I guess it may hit me someday, but I suspect I have spent less than $10K in my adult life for healthcare, including prescriptions. I did have to go to the hospital once in SF (not drug related). Got an infection and ended up having to get IV antibiotics. Was in the hospital for about 5 days, I think the bill was upwards of $10K, I wrote a letter to hospital admin and told them I had just moved to town and had only had one job with a temp agency since I'd been there and didn't have insurance. They reduced the amount to $1200 and let me pay $100/month for a year, which I did. So that was definitely an example of corporate charity on their part, but other than that, I really just have not spent much time in the doctor's office or hospital. I had back surgery when I was 18, I guess my dad's insurance paid for that. Didn't ever have health insurance until about 10 years ago and never needed it. I don't know if that's the norm or if I just got lucky, but obviously people are spending way more on health insurance than the insurance companies are paying out for treatment, or else they wouldn't be in business...

I ignore my medical bills. My credit is shot but fuck it. I have no credit history for the past 10 years. No house payment, car payment or credit cards. I deal in cash only

I've spent less than that in my whole life. I could probably spend twice that at the dentist right now, with insurance, but I don't have enough to take my car to the mechanic for a busted radiator.
I'll get one at Auto zone and YouTube some Iranian fuck showing me how to replace it

an opportunity to praise Cortez
she is challenging the Fed Chairman on their policy of raising interest rates when unemployment hits a certain threshold in an attempt to curb inflation
as a result it also usually kills any momentum a long term economic expansion might have that in turn would result in forced higher wages for workers
https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics ... ge-deficit
now do I think she knows what the fuck she is touching on in the big picture? probably not, she probably just thinks she is trying to save someone from getting underwater in an adjustable rate mortgage.

She has also called for loosening of federal restrictions on research into psychedelic drugs, which have shown promise in helping vets (and others) with PTSD. That's worth more than anything Mitch McConnell has ever done in his life...

I have "berated" people with too many items in the express lane. Most act like they didn't know. One said "fuck off". Or coupons! I hate people with coupons. There should be a special lane for people with coupons and only that lane should be able to redeem them. And why do people (mostly women) if they aren't using credit cards wait till the total is rang up before they start looking for their money or check book. And then spend 5 minutes looking for 2 cents to keep from breaking a nickle.

Well, if you ever get in trouble, just claim your Cuban. If he passes as Cuban, you and I can pass as Cuban.

the people that stand there watching the check out person, wait for the total and then decide to dig thru their purse or wallet to find a way to pay for it need a cart ran up the back of their ankle

Heh at AA. "Image2, please" is rising to the lofty level of "P,YAAM" and "G,BIIT" and "MPNCAA" in the classic AA Hall of Fame. "I2,P" anyone?
And Tick, Laura is right. It's bad enough that the Republican Party has lost all pretense of being the party of fiscal sanity. We got used to that grim reality at least 10 years ago. But now Trump is joining the hated GOP Establishment in drinking the fiscal kool aid.
All that new spending, increased deficits, and still no wall.
It's truly a disgusting spectacle.

I'm tired of these conservatives talking about fiscal responsibility without mentioning what needs to be done. Because there is only one thing that will stop deficit spending and that is to raise the social security and medicare ages to 72. They know that, but can't say it because they know they won't get elected.
I was at a luncheon today where Mark Sanford was attending, and of course he was attending because he wanted to be given a few minutes to speak to our business group (He wasn't the main speaker). So, he was given a few minutes and alluded to the fact that he might run for the R nomination for President because of fiscal irresponsibility of the current administration. The real reason he is running because he became an anti-Trump R and lost the nomination in the 2018 election because of it, so he's bitter.
