That little makeup thing between the wife and sis in law is going to go one of 2 ways. Either it won't be enough to hold water and will implode spectacularly on the vacation, probably over some seemingly trivial matter

Or, emboldened by the return of a long lost ally, the wife is going to work overtime on you while you're trapped in the house with her kin

the boy has a girlfriend now, but she wasn't invited.

I'm really looking forward to this vacation, its going to be on the cheap, I mean after renting the lake house but we aren't doing anything other than hanging out there. Its really not near anything but there are a couple of mom-n-pop places we grab a meal at.

It's all rolling into one, and by one, I mean eCat's unilateral plan to dominate his fambly and right all recent wrongs.

They're going to be trapped in a lake house in some remote shithole state with no recourse to play Aggravation as many times in a row as he wants.

This is why Trump is going to war with the Squad. From the racist and Islamophobic Axios:
Exclusive poll: AOC defining Dems in swing states

Top Democrats are circulating a poll showing that one of the House's most progressive members — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — has become a definitional face for the party with a crucial group of swing voters.

Why it matters: These Democrats are sounding the alarm that swing voters know and dislike socialism, warning it could cost them the House and the presidency. The poll is making the rounds of some of the most influential Democrats in America.

"If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk," said a top Democrat who is involved in 2020 congressional races. "[S]he's getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races."

These are the "white, non-college voters" who embraced Donald Trump in 2016 but are needed by Democrats in swing House districts.

The findings:

Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view.
Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view.

Socialism was viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%.

Capitalism was 56% favorable; 32% unfavorable.
"Socialism is toxic to these voters," said the top Democrat.

The Squad may as well be working for the Trump re-elect campaign. And the House is about to vote on impeachment. Again, according to the KKK loving Axios:
The impeachment whip count

86 House Democrats and one independent now publicly support launching an impeachment inquiry against President Trump, according to an Axios analysis.

By the numbers:

15 of the 24 Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee publicly support an impeachment inquiry. 21 are needed to refer an impeachment resolution to the House floor.
Of the 8 Democrats that Axios identified as "influential" — the 3 top members of leadership and 5 committee chairs investigating Trump — only one publicly supports impeachment:

Financial Services Chair Maxine Waters. Judiciary Committee Chair Jerrold Nadler has reportedly pushed in private to open an impeachment inquiry.

The bottom line: Speaker Nancy Pelosi has long wagered that impeachment would be fruitless without overwhelming public support

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll this month found that only "21 percent of registered voters say that there is enough evidence for Congress to begin impeachment hearings now."

Outstanding.

Long way to go before the election. Glad the dems are getting this stuff out of the way 16 months before the fact. The way news cycles run these days, people don't remember what happened 16 days ago, much less 16 months...

yea people were losing their shit over Trump going after those women, but in doing so , he knows 2 things

that nationalism is what got him elected and while people scream racism when he does it, the underlying tone here is that he has a point. A muslim woman who escaped a muslim country comes here, gets elected into Congress and does little to show how exceptional this country is for providing someone like her opportunities.

and two, by going after them, he forces Pelosi to back them. Some political honks believe it was a mistake because Pelosi was waging a war against these women by labeling them as extremists in the party and knowing she needed to push a moderate belief. Just last week Pelosi was saying these people only have 4 votes in congress and no power, now she has to publicly support them and condemn Donald for going after someone in her party.

Pelosi now supports socialism

It was premature on his part - he should have waited until say February, but I think it was a solid play.

No one supporting Trump currently believes that nationalism equates to racism, but they absolutely believe that progressive democrats are socialists.

At the end of the day, they are going to vote for nationalism over socialism

16 months won’t change the equation. If Pelosi continues to try to quash the Squad and their radical allies, the latter will not meekly disappear. Any more than the Montagnards laid low and let the Girondins run the show in France. Nor did the Bolsheviks passively let the Kerensky-ites call the shots in Russia. Not for 16 months, not ever...

I don't pay attention to that q nonsense. There is a whole sub culture out there dedicated to believe that the deep state is our modern illuminati

HSA's and Obamacare have killed any hope for affordable insurance in the middle class. This article covers what I've been complaining about since Obamacare took off.

Before Obamacare, HSA's were the domain of young single kids who never got sick, but then corporations (and states force to support Obamacare) saw that HSAs with high deductibles were a way to save money while still providing health care.

If Obama truly cared about getting health care to everyone and not just low income minorities who can receive subsidies that bypass the impact of deductibles, then he would have addressed caps in spending for people. Guaranteeing access to health care is the biggest fucking fraud ever put on Americans because they did *nothing* to contain costs for people who don't qualify for subsidies.

Seriously putting people in this position where they have to choose between health care for themselves or having any quality of life is criminal. That isn't hyperbole on my part. Doesn't matter if insurance profits or not - you can't say that "well insurance companies aren't making money off of this" as if that is justification for fucking over working Americans

Trump hasn't helped but at least he removed the mandate that people are forced to be in this criminal system - so we are back to pre Obama where you take your chances relying the charity of the health care system if you don't have insurance.

I'm lucky in the sense that I do have health care, and at least for the last couple of years I had access to a "cadillac" plan that was affordable. But I fully understand the impact of this someone who is doing all they can to pull in 50K a year, trying to cover the costs of school supplies for their kids, eat something other than spaghetti 3 times a week (w/o toast) and keep their 15 year old car on the road.

an excerpt from that article

------------
Analyzing wage and insurance data from a large national corporation with an HSA plan, Fronstin and his colleagues found that employees with individual coverage who earned more than $150,000 in 2016 put more than $1,700 on average into their HSAs that year.

That was nearly three times as much as workers earning less than $75,000.

By the end of 2016, the high-income workers also had more than three times as much saved, averaging almost $6,500 in their accounts.

The higher-income employees also were nearly twice as likely to invest their accounts, a recommended strategy for maximizing the tax benefits of HSAs.

Related research by Fronstin indicates that workers with higher HSA balances use more healthcare, even accounting for differences in workers’ ages.

“All around, they are getting more bang for their buck,” he said.
----------------

this take completely misses the point. No, they aren't getting more bang for their buck you moron, they are just in a position where they can afford - out of their own pocket to get standard health care treatment. And I can assure you that people that earn more than $150K a year are putting a helluva lot more thatn $1700 in their HSA savings account.

Everyone gets the same bang for "their" buck, its just that people with less income are choosing not to spend their money on standard health care. The $150K people aren't getting cheaper health care, its still costs them $125 to see their general practitioner for 10 minutes only to either get antibiotics or hear they need to go spend another $200 to see a specialists.

now imagine living in a world where someone like AOC see that government solutions solve everyone's problems, and the $150K people have to contribute to the $50K people in an effort to balance out everyone's "bang for their buck"
