It shows how important it is to win the division now with the new system. St. Louis was able to start Wainwright twice in a 5 game series, Pittsburgh could only use Liriano once because they needed him for the Wild Card game. Oh well, at least I'm glad the Braves didn't win because a Braves-Turds series would have been worse than I feel now.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the Bartman game.
10 years ago today, I was in a hotel room in Ogden, UT, watching the game alone.
That night, for a few seconds, I understood the urge people get when they jump off buildings, or completely trash hotel rooms. I was there.
I had never felt that before, and haven't since...not even when Calipari blew the end of the Memphis-Kansas game. It was a strange feeling.

Yeah, me and my best friend watched that game and I just wanted to puke because I knew that was it.

Alex Gonzalez must be the luckiest fucker of all time that Cubs fans ended up blaming Bartman. Gonzalez blew that game.

You don't get it. Bartman was the catalyst. The entire mood of Wrigley Field and Cubs fans around the world changed when that happened. Dave will verify it. Gonzalez play was only the final confirmation they needed that they were indeed, fucked.

Agreed, the entire vibe in Wrigley changed after Bartman. Gonzalez does not deserve a pass but I'm sure he would have made a play if not for the sudden change of mood in the park. Fuck, that sucked. The next night wasn't any better. At least I was prepared for the loss in game 7.

I will go to my grave insisting that Alou makes that catch if not for the interference.

Me too. And, if he had made that catch, Wrigley would have exploded and there is zero chance they lose. Kill me for even talking about this.
