The water heater line apparently had some air in it that needed bleeding. It took a matter of minutes to fix and I probably should've tried that myself before calling the plumber, but I was annoyed and paying too much money to play handyman around a vacation rental.
Yes, hedge, apparently shitty properties can be found in all manner of locales. My kids were none the wiser and absolutely had a blast, so I was not totally annoyed. My wife, on the other hand, was another story.

At least you fuckers don't have to go to Myrtle Beach. The fiance's grandmother is from MB (one of the few actual natives). The fiance's great grandpappy was a developer in MB. As a result, that is where everyone in her mother's family has their condos and beach houses. The three redeeming aspects of her condo are (1) that it isn't near the crowds, (2) that it has two decent enough golf courses in the development and (3) that we can be on the beach in five minutes. Other than that, it fucking sucks because you're in fucking Myrtle Goddamn Beach. We are going down Wednesday and staying until Sunday. I will go to the grocery store, buy supplies and cook each night. I will be damned if I will go out to a restaurant during a holiday weekend. Even though we stay the fuck away from the touristy restaurants and chain bullshit, it is still a pain in the ass.

I always enjoyed Pauley's Island when I went to MB. I actually lived there for about 6 months doing a project for my old job.
I was there during biker week - it SUCKED.

17 days in Hilton Head and I need a vacation from my vacation. I don't know why people even bother going to Myrtle Beach anymore but I'm glad they do.

I heard a scientist say that California has lost so much groundwater that the state has risen more than 1/2 inch. Miniscule to the naked eye but monumental to someone tracking that kind of thing.

Those pictures are sobering. I feel bad because I was giving my boy shit for not doing the ice bucket challenge because of the drought. The pics changed things up for me.

I used to rant years ago on here about capturing runoff after storms and investing in water desalinization. It didn't take a rocket scientist to realize shit was gonna get real in the west when it came to water distribution. Every podunk burg and village should have a reservoir system to retain water runoff.

A friend I challenged a few weeks ago who lives in San Francisco declined because of the drought but donated instead. I saw those pics on Facebook yesterday and now I really get why.

Yep. She moved in with me a few months ago. Got tired of her mom's bullshit. Starts her senior year tomorrow and turns 18 in 6 months.
