Anyway, how does ones medical records get passed around the medical community like that? You would think there would be more privacy, especially with the Clintons.

Armour Thyroid is in favor with herbalists, chiropractors, osteopaths, and homeopaths because it is "natural" (dried up and grinded pig thyroids), but in favor with very few main stream endocrinologists, internal medicine docs, or oncologists.

I thought Armour Thyroid was attractive to some doctors because it did not impact blood pressure like some other drugs and its effects/efficacy are more easily monitored.

(I am botching that last point, I know, because I am parroting something said to me by a medical professional I had dinner with last night, not something I can speak about via direct knowledge)

Yeah, synthroid has more of an effect on BP, but that's because its uptake is real, predictable, and more manageable. It is identical to thyroxine. If hypertention is an issue, synthroid and (usually) an ACE inhibitor like lisinopril are given. Sometimes in conjunction with HCTZ.

Last night, I switched the topic and started to work on that plate of German potatoes, sauteed broccoli, steamed asparagus and a medium porterhouse. That was a much better course to take than trying to understand all that med mumbo jumbo that was flying around the table. I'll work on getting my hypertension via diet and THEN start understanding the medicines applicable to it.

Yeah, synthroid affects blood pressure because it works. The blood pressure is easily and cheaply treated, though.

Marcus Welby? I don't get that at all. In fact, I don't really remember Welby comparing and contrasting various drugs' effectiveness. That said, Armour Thyroid is a horrible first or second choice. It's only given to people who absolutely can't tolerate more effective options - which is very rare. She said as much but unnecessarily softened her verbiage to bolster the intended "Dr. Drew is a hack" stance.

the wife and I are thinking about selling the house next year and getting a smaller nut.

while I like the burbs and really like our location, we're kind of at a point where the things we want to do to our house to make it more enjoyable for people entering their 50's (mainly first floor master/first floor laundry) would end up costing more to renovate than we'd get back and we'd still have a big ass house that I don't want to keep maintaining. The other part of the equation is with no kids there is no reason to keep paying the tax base we are to be in a good school system.

so we're trying to decide - move further out in the country or move back into the city - find a brick 4/2 ranch with new mechanics.

initially we thought country and just recently we bought some land within spitting distance of the ohio river near Chilo but turns out I don't want to live with white trash neighbors when I'm an old man so we're probably going to sell it or see if the boy wants its.

Now I'm leaning toward living in a buffer neighborhood to the nice ones - like Fairfax, Linwood or Bellevue. Hard to find a first floor master in these old neighborhoods built in the 1920's but you can pick up 1500 sq ft renovated cape cods all day long for less than $175K.

I'm also thinking about flipping a house with a guy at work. While I was looking for house I found one that seems to be ideal for flipping. We've been talking about it for a few years now.

Anyways....I'm ready to mix things up and kind of get out of the routine I have.


I realize most of you don't have any idea of the locations I mentioned but you get the gist of what I'm talking about.
