Wait, isn't she in college? At Bama? Nothing is going to happen on spring break that isn't happening daily in Tuscaloosa...

There is nothing she would do on Spring Break that isn't occurring in Tuscaloosa on a daily basis.

yea I read that this morning.

To be honest, all of this hits too close to home. I hope this goes away and we never hear about it again.

I didn't get to watch the game last night, got up at 5am to see the results

good god

my brother called me around 9 asking me if I was going to watch the game and I told him no. After that IUP game I didn't think we were ready to face Duke but I didn't think it would be that bad.

Duke is a 38 or more win team this year

That was like watching Rocky's first fight against Clubber Lange, after Cal had had a heart attack in the dressing room. Good god almighty. I was literally laughing. Not at UK, b/c I won't be surprised if Duke does the same to us, but just at the ridiculousness of that performance. Granted, that might be the best they play this year and granted that, given the freshman-loaded nature of both teams, it was probably played at more of an AAU allstar game pace and vibe. Maybe a more seasoned team with a couple of legit post guys will be able to slow down some of that stuff they were doing and maybe they won't hit quite as many 3's, but even then I'd say they're double digits better than any team out there.

Zion Williamson is the LeBron James of college hoops and that's not overstating it. He may not be the next LeBron in the pros (although he appears to have all the tool and the size to give it a good shot) but right now he is a man among boys. They interviewed him after the game, I was hoping he'd be some dumb galoot so I could at least hate him for that but no, he was very well spoken and even almost humble. Good kid, great player. Even without him Duke would easily be a top 3 or 4 squad, but then you add him to that? Jesus christ, they may not lose this year and they may not even win a game by less than double digits all year.

Maybe UK isn't #4 (but then again, maybe they are), but they're certainly top 10 at least, and Duke just toyed with them. It was like an NBA team playing a college team, or a college team playing a high school team. Didn't seem to be much drop off when the second string came in either. Goddamn...

yea, UK fans over at rivals are pissed, saying the game has passed Cal by , etc

just a bunch of fucking spoiled nutjobs.

4 years ago we beat #5 Kansas 72-40, and UCLA scored 7 points on us in the first half.

This Duke team is every bit of that UK team and probably more.

The frustrating part is we are a better team than what we showed last night. They just wilted when Duke started draining shots. After the Bahamas I thought we'd take Duke. Boy, was that prediction off.

I wouldn't start panicking over that game just yet. We've got a nice team and we're going to win some games, but our two big men haven't progressed to the point where we're going to be able to play Roy's preferred inside/out style. We're going to be another glorified Duke squad this year, if the 3's aren't falling, we're going to get hammered, esp. by a team like Duke that can hit 3's and drive at will. On the bright side, I doubt Duke is going to shoot 50% from behind the arc every game, but if their shots aren't falling it won't matter, they've got three 6'8" guys who can all dribble like guards and drive at will. Unless you've got a couple of athletic 6'10" guys who actually understand how to play defense you're not going to stop them and even then it's going to be a struggle. Seriously, I can't recall seeing an onslaught like that last night and this wasn't the Sisters of the Poor, it was UK. Like I said, I was literally laughing out loud and shaking my head for most of that game last night. Again, not laughing at UK, just laughing to keep from crying thinking about having to play them...

This is like if you're Ohio St Football and you lose the second game of the season.

You already know you're not going to be in the championship game.

That's how I feel right now.

Well, it was a humbling loss, but UK will win plenty of games this year. I think that game last night said more about Duke than it did about UK. I never thought I'd say this but the way they played last night they looked like they could've hung with the worst NBA team. Not saying they would've beaten them and obviously even the worst NBA team would've had some muscle in the post to alter their game, but the fact is three of those guys are going to be high lottery picks next year and starting in the league. If they were put up against a very young team with some ragged veterans, I don't think they'd get completely blown out...

eCat,

Heh. Was the Ohio State thing a clever way of saying you’ll win the NC? Because Ohio State’s last NC in football (2014), they in fact lost the second game of the season (to an ACC team, no less: VaTech)?

If so, well done.

Yeah, but Ohio State had that game tied in the 4th quarter (thanks, wikipedia), Duke was up by 25+ in what would be the comparable segment of that game last night. Now AA, you may think I'm sassing you, but really I couldn't resist the opportunity to sass UK...

Meh. Tied or not. If that is a crypto “we gonna win” post. It was well done.
