There can be no doubt that the gods want a Bama-LSU rematch.

The top 3 teams will all be SEC teams. Followed by Okla State, Va tech (whose only loss was to Clemson who they will play in the ACC title game), Stanford, probably Houston and Boise State.

Everyone else has at least 2 losses

So what happens if...

...Arkansas beats LSU (I would assume Alabama would get the SEC West bid to the conference title game vs. UGA, based on highest poll rank at that point)

...then...

...Georgia beats the SEC Western Division Champ in the conference title game

...let's say that leaves the following:

Georgia 11-2 (SEC Champs)
LSU 11-1
Arkansas 11-1
Alabama 11-2 (or sub in either of the other two from the SEC West at 11-2)

If that comes to pass, who gets the BCS Title Game bid? Let's throw in an Oklahoma State loss to Oklahoma while we're at it, just to give both of those teams two losses. Would an 11-1 SEC West team (or both teams, for that matter) that didn't even make their conference title game be #1 and #2 in the BCS standings?

At any rate, I hope it all comes to pass. I love chaos in college football!

If Arkansas beats LSU at LSU which means that both LSU's and Alabama's losses are at home while Arkansas' one loss was on the road.

I'd put Arkansas number one if they beat LSU.

I don't know. The road is worth 3.5 points with most oddsmakers. Bama beat them by 24. I think LSU beats the Hogs, though.

I'm in favor of a playoff, but this is the type of year where a playoff will be a disservice. We always say teams should 'earn it on the field', but the fact of the matter is this year no team has earned the right to play LSU for a post-season title, and the regular season is going to be massively disvalued. All that can happen now--assuming LSU wins out--is LSU will retain what it's already won during the regular season, or if they get upset, we'll have no definitive answer except 'group think' that whoever wins the big game is the champion.

Having said that, I'm glad Oregan St and Oklahoma St lost--nobody, Idon't think, actually thought either team was as good as Alabama yet we had lots of people saying they should go ahead pretty much just because it was the game they wanted to see, not because they thought they were better than Alabama.

I wish LSU wouldn't have to play anybody to give another team a free shot to take in a spectacle game what LSU earned during the regular season, but since they do, I hope it'll be Alabama. I think they're clearly the second best team in the country, and as far as I'm concerned that's who should play for the NC.

And no way, no way, no way we should go beyond a 4-team playoff. Very rarely do we even have three teams ending the regular season with a legitimate claim as #1, this year it appears we'll only have one. There's absolutely no reason at all, except literally to devalue the regular season, to go to eight. Nobody in spots 5-8 will ever emerge the regular season with a claim to having proved they're the best team in the country, there's no reason at all to let them into a playoff where all they can do is be a spoiler, not prove a claim.

"The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is hard to verify their authenticity"
— Abraham Lincoln"

Not to be picky, but Lincoln didn't capitalize 'Internet'--if you're going to quote him on authenticity at least quote him authentically.

Should I go all BOJ on the Bengal refs today or should I just realize if the refs are the reason, your team just didn't play as well to begin with. Cause then, the refs wouldn't matter.

Definitely some bad calls - overturning Gresham's TD was total bullshit - but that's life on the road in the NFL. Don't throw the three picks or cover Torrey Smith on a simple post and it won't matter.

Fucking Birds. They do it to me every week and I keep coming back.

I don't know who's dumber, me or Andy Reid's choices for coaches and plays.

Am curious how the lot of ye thought Lance Moore's two point conversion in the Super Bowl was a catch, but not a lot of folks are arguing about the Bengals play yesterday. That was about 2,839 times more of a catch than the Lance Moore play. There needs to be some plain, old common sense inserted into the stupid Calvin Johnson rule.

If they didn't make the new rule that all tds are reviewed it might not have been caught. Although the Ravens would have challenged it.
