It is significant, but not all that surprising. The Dallas Morning News represents the GOP Establishment. And Texas is probably the last state where Bushism is still popular. They still approve of neoconery, trade deals that screw American workers, open borders to ensure cheap labor, tax cuts for the wealthy, and coddling big business (especially big oil). Pretty much everything that Trump opposes.

The great irony of this election is that Trump is more liberal in the traditional sense (i.e., in the sense that Fox News never tires of dissing) than Hillary. Not saying he's Bernie Sanders, but he's more liberal than Hillary...

And he doesn't grin with his mouth open like Hill and Bill. That's enough for me.

How is he more liberal than Hillary?
1. In the fiscal sense, I think they are both Big Government tax/borrow spenders. No difference.
2. On the 2A, she clearly wants to come after guns. At the very least, she wants crime victims to be able to sue gun manufacturers, and thereby run them out of business. I don't believe Trump has any devotion to the 2A; but I don't think he'll declare war on it either.
3. On the 1A, Hillary wants to punish any organization that does anything that displeases and feminists and gays. At the very least, she will remove tax exemptions for churches that fail to comply with federally approved religious beliefs. I don't believe Trump has any love for the 1A, but he doesn't have an ideological urge to attack it either.
4. Hillary wants to crush industries that offend the Gaiea worshippers. Now that her side has crippled the coal industry, the oil industry is next. Trump is a businessman, and therefore doesn't have an ideological
passion to gut whole industries to appease the official religion of the Left.
5. Hillary wants open borders in order to create a huge New Democrat voting bloc. Trump wants to repel Mexicans with a wall and deport the ones already here.
6. Hillary and Bill love trade deals that enrich potential donors but screw American workers. Trump hates those deals.
7. The one area where I see Clinton more conservative than Trump is on projection of US military force. Hillary is more likely to use it, Trump less so. Hillary will get a lot of votes from the neocons of the GOP for that reason.

So Trump makes a $25K donation to the FLA Attorney General AFTER she announces that she won't pursue the Trump University case, THEN he throws a $3,000.00/plate fundraiser for her at Mira-Lago . . . and Hillary is the crook?

I am still a strong Johnson lean. My political philosophy is more Libertarian than Republican anyway. I went third party last time around rather than vote for the Mittster. I could easily do it again.
My biggest problem with Trump is his temperament. I'm not sure he's entirely sane. And his skin is WAAAAAY too thin to be president. That childish temper tantrum he displayed against the parents of a dead US soldier was disgusting. With his childish temperament, if Putin says Trump has small hands, Trump might fling a nuke in response.
I could see him starting a trade war with China, which would send us all to the poor house.
If Hillary wins, I'll hide my guns and Bibles, and hoard gasoline. If Trump wins, I'll build a fallout shelter and hoard gold.

You'd do better hoarding gasoline. People cannot eat gold and its value as a means of exchange if there is no government or banking system is uncertain. Gasoline, non-perishable/preserved foodstuffs, ammunition, tools, antibiotics and textiles will be invaluable.
I'm hoarding condoms, tampons & Motrin. Contrary to B movies, no one is going to want to drag around pregnant, bleeding, cramping women in a dystopic America.

Heh heh.
But in a post-apocalyptic America, women will be less of a problem, not more. The rapid advance of technology has drastically reduced the premium placed on physical strength, possessed mostly by males. In the Thunderdome, most labor-saving gadgets will be gone, the premium for physical strength will return, and women will return to the kitchen and rearing the children in return for provision and protection. We men will be in charge again. We won't have to listen to their complaining anymore.

OMG. No sooner do I express support for Gary Johnson, then I'm sitting here watching Morning Joe, and they ask him what does he thinks about Aleppo. He didn't know what Aleppo was. Right there in front of me.
Time to recalculate. I need a drink. Maybe several.

Both Clintons’ temper emerge as a theme in several interviews, but Hillary Clinton’s “had much more sustained velocity, for a longer period of time,” according to former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta. “She just let everybody have it,” Panetta recalled of one incident.

they ask him what does he thinks about Aleppo
So they purposely asked about "Aleppo?" and not like Syria or the war or the refugee problem? Were they already talking about Syria? Gary Johnson should probably know what Aleppo is, but its hardly something that more than 5 out of 100 people would know wtf you are talking about if you asked them about it, although I'm sure many are now filing it away for use as smug superiority. What was the actual question and how did he end up answering?
