Rupp renovations to cost $241 million....to be completed by 2021. Why not just build a new arena??

Hate to tell you this but it's because they cost around a billion nowadays. Also, gas is more than a buck and a candy bar is more than a nickel.

about 10 years ago they said to build an offsite arena at UK would be $300m.
Rupp came up with some sweetheart deal and got the politicians involved to pressure UK to stay there
Now they can't even fill it with a top 10 team every year. I question the judgement of those thinking investing $241m which will probably raise prices to beyond NBA level is a smart move.
Its times for communities to stop financially strapping themselves to support a sports team.

I am extremely proud that UNC doesn't participate in the public funding of athletic facility construction and upgrades. The funds for facility construction and upgrades comes from private donations, as it should be.

so I'm interviewing co-ops to work for me this fall - its a relatively small job for a few months that pays these college kids $26 a hour to do monkey work for us and get college credit.
I interview 3 guys, all of them uber nerds and I choose the nerdiest of the bunch.
Then today I get a call from HR asking me to interview a young woman. After reading her resume, she is really smart - well documented, etc so I look her up on facebook to see if she'll be a distraction, which I know isn't fair to her but if I hire a 4/10 she is going to show up to work and get her work done. If I hired a 7/10 all these fat engineers with no social life would never leave her alone.
Turns out she is a cheerleader for UC and is a solid 9/10. If I hired her no guy in this office would believe she was the most qualified candidate.

in 1974 a lawyer wrote some "official" letter to the Cleveland Browns saying as an season ticket holder he was concerned about the risk of eye injury due to fans flying paper airplanes in the stadium
The Browns wrote back concerned - to inform him that some [bleep] was signing his name to a stupid letter - and they thought he'd want to know

looks like I get to keep my license, my budget priced lawyer got them down to 25 over so that I pay the maximum fine but don't lose my license.
Since it was in Kentucky , then I don't lose any points on my license. My only concern would be if my insurance decides to get shitty with me about it.
I'm not going to say I won't ever get another speeding ticket but I'm pretty sure I'll never get one for that kind of craziness again.

The difference between a co-op and an intern...$26/ hour.

Not so fast...
States report moving violations to other states and have for some time now. It's not like the old days. Enjoy the drastically increased insurance rates.

already consulted lawyer about it in Ohio, turned down money from me saying there was no need, so I assume he was telling me the truth. Its reported to Ohio, but they don't take off points on my Ohio license, again, at least according to the Ohio lawyer I reached out to

yea I kinda respect our company for taking a stand on that. We won't do the intern route, and we pay a graduated scale based on what year you are in school. Seniors make $30+ an hour.
I'm gonna work these kids dick in the dirt
