so I've decided to take up golf again, not because I'm particularly interested in playing golf but because my daughter is interested in it.

I read that colleges love women golfers for Title IX because its so cheap to have a women's golf team and if a young girl can break 100 routinely a college somewhere would give her a shot.

So I'm going buy a good set of junior clubs for her, take her to a driving range and see how long she stays interested.

Maybe that was once the case but I'm pretty sure a girl needs to be a lot better than that to get a shot on a team these days. Georgetown's womens golf team is not very good and it looks like the worst player on the team has a stroke average in the low 80s. It's not very hard to get an average in the low 80s but that's a long way from 100.

True, but the Penn State students have revealed that they are quite apelike in thought and probably not a great environment to drop an 18 year old girl in.
