Nah. Just laughing at the absurdity of the Grand Old Party having a carnival barker as its standard bearer.
There were 3 or 4 potential GOP nominees who I thought had a great shot at knocking off Hillary. None of them ever polled at more than 3% among Republicans.

At this point, I think a Hillary victory dance is warranted.
So you thought that Lindsay Graham, Ben Carson and Jim Gilmore might have beaten the PAH?

Rand Paul, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan.
Rand Paul had crossover appeal - not beholden to the Only-Gun or Kill-Abortionists lobbies, but had his dad available to woo those kooks if necessary. Good looking, much younger than Hillary and I thought he'd have soccer mom credibility. Pro-weed, to attract the lefties. I do not understand why Libertarians don't get more traction with the wider GOP.
Mitt Romney got beat by Obama - but wasn't crushed by him - and I assumed that he would run as Massachusetts Mitt against Hillary, which would have attraction to the huge anti-Hillary wing of the Dems. The GOP has moved so far right, however, that Massachusetts Mitt couldn't even get on the ballot in some GOP Primary states.
Paul Ryan is Ted Cruz, only with manners, a reasonable personality and boyish good looks. Visually, Hillary would've looked like a tired old hag against him and Ryan - a policy wonk - would've been an extremely difficult debate opponent. He;s far enough right to have held the kook base without running off too many soccer moms.
If the GOP continues its rightward trend, I expect to see David Duke on their next ticket.

I was a Rand Paul groupie.
As a Libertarian leaner myself, I can tell you why it doesn't get more traction in the GOP:
1. Libertarians believe in small government. The party Establishment gives lip service to small government, but in reality they follow the motto attributed to Tom Delay: "Big government is good government as long as it's OUR government." They love to wield the powerful tentacles of Washington just as much as Dem's, and will never do anything to cut off those tentacles.
2. Libertarians believe in a smaller defense budget, and believe that the US should only get involved in wars that actually involve the security of the United States. That is heresy to the neocons of the GOP, that never met a war they didn't like.
3. Libertarians believe in maximum personal freedom. This means most libertarians are fine with legalized drugs, gay marriage and abortion, which they believe maximize the personal freedom of stoners, gays and women. This is a show-stopper for most of the religious right.
When your political philosophy pisses off three of the biggest parts of the party, you don't get a lot of traction.

It's hilarious for a member of either party to poo poo the other party's candidate.

Hillary is a lawyer, so her liar label is well earned. But she is smart and is well-versed in the workings of the federal government, and she can find Ukraine on a map. The other candidate knows less than a 5th grader about government, civics, and basic deportment. How he even got to this point will be a mystery for the ages...like Stonehenge, Nessie, or the Bermuda Triangle.

Don't associate the word liar with Hillary. I think sneaky is a lot closer. Don't think Trump is dumb. I'd use snarky and clueless for him.

Never smoked a joint.
Nixon was sneaky and paranoid. Paranoia doesn't fit either Clinton or Trump, although Trump may possess a neurosis.

Certainly no neurosis here.
Had Hillary Clinton’s plane come “under sniper fire” in March 1996, we would certainly have heard about it long before now. Numerous reporters, including The Washington Post’s John Pomfret, covered her trip. A review of nearly 100 news accounts of her visit shows that not a single newspaper or television station reported any security threat to the first lady. “As a former AP wire service hack, I can safely say that it would have been in my lead had anything like that happened,” said Pomfret.
According to Pomfret, the Tuzla airport was “one of the safest places in Bosnia” in March 1996, and “firmly under the control” of the 1st Armored Division.
Far from running to an airport building with their heads down, Clinton and her party were greeted on the tarmac by smiling U.S. and Bosnian officials. An 8-year-old Muslim girl, Emina Bicakcic, read a poem in English. An Associated Press photograph of the greeting ceremony, above, shows a smiling Clinton bending down to receive a kiss.
