site works now
It's pretty obvious now that Trump makes statements that get right up to the line or straddles it, so that he can cause a stir and then walk his comments back. It's not a winning strategy for winning the WH, but others think he's got something else in mind. Joe Scarborough says this is all a marketing ploy for future Trump endeavors (Trump Network! coming 2017).

Guns don't kill people, vol. MMDXCV
Woman Accidentally Shot During Citizen Police Academy
A Citizen Policy Academy event in Florida ended tragically on Tuesday when a woman was shot with a live round and later died.
The fatal accident took place at a two-hour training session hosted by the Punta Gorda Police Department, which about 35 civilians attended. Two of the participants were randomly selected and staged a mock “shoot/don’t shoot” scenario, in which they made decisions on whether or not to use lethal force in a live role play, according to a statement released by the police. During the first scenario, 73-year-old Mary Knowlton was shot with a live round. Authorities rushed her to Lee Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
"I am devastated for everyone involved in this unimaginable event," Chief Tom Lewis said. "If you pray, please pray for Mary’s family, and for the officers who were involved. Everyone involved in this accident is in a state of overwhelming shock and grief."
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is currently investigating the incident. One officer been placed on administrative leave, the police said.

From Breitbart:
..and Mrs. Knowlton had various run-ins with law enforcement (speeding in MN July 1955 and a FL parking citation 2004). She is alleged to have been a retired librarian, thereby putting her under Homeland Security scrutiny and possible surveillance. Sources say Mrs. Knowlton's baking skills were suspect and that many of her offerings featured red dye and aspartame.

Some basic facts are missing. One, she was assigned this case by the court and asked to be relieved from it and the judge refused. Second, if the forensic evidence should have been allowed, it was up to the prosecutor to object (she did) and the judge to allow the evidence. Don't blame the lawyer for doing her job. Every lawyer in litigation will at some time have a client that they don't like or they disagree with and their job is to represent that client to the utmost under the law because every lawyer is an officer of the court. It has no bearing to personal beliefs.

Doesn't sound like she was forced.
"In an unpublished interview in the 1980s with Arkansas reporter Roy Reed - which was first reported by the Washington Free Beacon in 2014 - Clinton said she agreed to take the case as a personal favor to the prosecutor.
"The prosecutor called me a few years ago, he said he had a guy who had been accused of rape, and the guy wanted a woman lawyer,' said Clinton in the interview. 'Would I do it as a favor for him?'"

More to come:
Hillary is a murderess (Clinton Chronicles, Clinton Body Count)
Hillary is a lesbian
Hillary is bisexual (Vince Foster killed himself in her bed after coitus; the CIA moved his body to Fort Marcy Park)
Hillary has had numerous lovers (Chelsea's father is actually former Clinton law partner Web Hubbell)
Hillary gave the order to have Kathleen Willey's cat beheaded to intimidate her into silence
Hillary gave the order to the military to stand down instead of rescuing the victims of the Benghazi terrorist attack
Hillary buys her mumuus and pant-suits on Amazon.com
Hillary is a clever manipulator and rigged her successful race against Sanders and is doing the same vs Trump
Hillary had a stroke and can't keep a single thought in her head

Wrong on one count: Chelsea's real father is Janet Reno, not Web Hubble.

Convenient to only give part of the story. Here is the rest of it on factcheck.com.

Gibson corroborated Clinton’s story in a 2014 interview with CNN.
CNN, June 25, 2014: Gibson said Clinton called him shortly after the judge assigned her to the case and said, “I don’t want to represent this guy. I just can’t stand this. I don’t want to get involved. Can you get me off?”
“I told her, ‘Well contact the judge and see what he says about it,’ but I also said don’t jump on him and make him mad,” Gibson said. “She contacted the judge and the judge didn’t remove her and she stayed on the case.”

Could Hillary Clinton Win Georgia?
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/20 ... orgia.html
If Hillary can flip Georgia, Virginia and North Carolina, we can finally declare a victor in the Civil War. 155 years is long enough.

That's possible, but I tend to think GA is to the Dem's what PA is the GOP: they keep thinking "This is the year we win it!" But they never seem to.
That said, in the Dem's favor this year is the local outrage against outgoing Governor Nathan Deal. He vetoed a bathroom bill similar to NC's, and he vetoed another bill allowing concealed carry on college campuses. Both those bills were wildly popular among the base, and they are now well and truly pissed at the leadership of their own state party. I expect a lot of R voters will stay home or vote third party this year to punish their own state GOP for a governor that betrayed them. I'm one of them.
So yeah, Hillary has a real chance at GA this year.

NC went with Obama in 2008 and came close to doing it again in 2012. So it wouldn't be so much of Hillary flipping NC but further establishing a pattern. Like I said in the Pen, the MIF has been a reliable republican voter forever and she even had a McCain sign in the yard in 2008. She's talking about putting a Hillary sign out this year. Pretty small sample size, obviously, but I think she represents a lot of women voters around here. I feel pretty confident that NC will go with Hillary this year, maybe not by a large margin, but that doesn't matter. If NC goes with her, it's going to be a a very comfortable win for her nationwide. If freakin Georgia goes with her, it'll be a landslide...

Also the MIF's oldest daughter was a borderline rabid republican in college, much to my shame. She even joined some college republican group. She's graduated now, but when I texted her asking if she was voting for Trump, she texted back "Gary Johnson." That warmed my heart...

See the last part of the article.
In her own words she said that a favor was asked. Also, confirmed by her spokesman. How that translates to her having no choice, I don't know. Plus, I can't see a judge grant the request of a change in defenders for a rape defendant on the basis of the defender's gender. A former colleague and political ally says that she was forced so that is what the fact checkers hang their hat on.
