Wow, Trump actually tweeted a semi-coherent response to the Michael Cohen bullshit that (kinda almost) sums up my thoughts on it. Mustve been written by somebody else for him.
1073205176872435713 1073207272069890049 1073210823936495617 But, in general I have become pretty jaded by basically every time I delve into the way prosecution of crimes works and the way that people can be coerced to accept guilt for crimes without trial in order to simply avoid the risk of getting convicted (possibly wrongly) for greater stuff. So I'm pretty fucking cynical, you might say.

"As a lawyer, Michael has great liability to me!"

Nah, I'm pretty sure Trump wrote that himself...

Somebody at least read it and edited most of it at minimum. There is not even a single crazy miscapitalized word.

The idea that donors paying off hookers on behalf of a political candidate is somehow construed as a "campaign contribution" is ... cute. The only time they tried that strained contortion (that I am aware of - DS please correct me if I'm wrong on that) was on John Edwards, and it was pretty much laughed out of court.

If memory serves, I think there was a mistrial due to jury issues.

Trump is on audio saying they have two weeks to get it done (due to the election). And now it's known about the Trump-Cohen-Pecker/AMI meeting about the payoffs. Plus the Edwards payoff was made while the affair was still on-going ...while the Trump affairs were years prior, so the payoffs only made sense in relation to the election.

Again - the audio that we've heard makes it clear it's campaign related. And that's the only audio made public so far...Cohen implies there's more evidence not made public.

The dems need to thin the herd anyway before the primaries, they don't need a 20 candidate field clusterfuck like the repubs had in 2016. I think Kamala Harris would be a great candidate...
Warren is way more progressive than corporate cunt Hillary plus she has almost the bully pulpit potential of Bernie, which is the most important thing since an actual left of center POTUS would be cockblocked exponentially more than right of center Bamers who was stifled at every turn by the party of No. Plus Warren avoids the age problem and didn't stupidly label herself something with "socialist" in it. Not to mention the whole Pocohantas thing would hilariously backfire on the sheeple right when the time was right. I'd vote for her in a minute. She's kinda cute too and way smarter and more down to earth than Hilldawg. Hell I'd fuck the shit out of her truth be known.

I have to look at the whole profile. If she has pig ankles like Hillary, then it's a no.

you have knowingly be breaking campaign finance law before its a criminal offense.

Its actually going to be incredibly hard to accuse Trump of knowing he was breaking campaign finance law.

Cohen is nothing.

What no one is talking about is Trump's accountant was granted immunity

it was a hung jury and the prosecutors felt like that they wouldn't get a unanimous jury the next time around either.

Of course Trump had to give his 2 cents about it at the time which hurts his credibility, but still - making Cohen out to be responsible for giving him legal advice is a great loophole (and an obvious one) for not knowing the campaign finance law.

I don't doubt they'll want to take him to trial. I doubt they'll get a conviction.

Trump taking ownership of closing down the government if he doesn't get his wall is an interesting strategy.

The last government shutdown hurt the GOP but gave Ted Cruz credibility with the same people that support Trump.

Given that he was willing to let industries hurt in a tariff war in China, It might be a seriously bad move for the Democrats to try to call his bluff.

All he has to do is go on TV and tell Americans - tell the Democrats to give me $5b for a wall and I'll get us back to work.

The weak kneed GOP full of Paul Ryan types would cave in a heartbeat and side with the Dems, but I still don't think Trump would care.

The GOP has the votes in Congress to give Donnie the $5B he wants for the wall, same as the tax giveway bill a year ago. Thing is, corporations and donors bought the tax bill votes, but the bags of cash aren't there for the wall. Simple as that.
