3. While killing people with an axes, he was screaming "Allahu Akbar!" Therefore, we will probably never know his motivation for the killing.

Half the convention-goers are on their smartphone. Long periods of abject boredom interrupted by cheers for the usual red-meat bleatings.

In other words a typical convention.

That was an assault axe. It had a pistol grip and a bayonet notch. Those are the most dangerous kind of axes.

There just might be a confederate flag somewhere in Germany....never know.

So I went to bed thinking Melania Trump actually gave a good account of herself at her one big campaign moment. Now it turns out it was Michele Obama's account. You can't dream this stuff up.

And it's revealed that convention literature lists Melania as a graduate of the University of Slovenia, although by all accounts she dropped out after her freshman year.

The floor revolt earlier in the day set the mood. Former Bush strategist Nicole Wallace, reflecting on all the first-day bombs, criticized the Trump campaign for "trying to screw on the wings at thirty thousand feet." Great stuff.
