Trump using some reverse psychology on liberals by saying Pelosi has earned the right to be Speaker.

Says if dems give her trouble he'll tell some repubs to vote for her

That will get her detractors riled up

Here in Harris County, TX all of the existing slate of judges and county officials were swept out of office (basically due to straight ticket voting, and the fact that the urban population has been overtaking suburban slowly for a while). Democrats on Beto's coattails swept Republicans, and these county positions are just names like 15-30 races down the ballot.

So now we have a bunch of nobody judges, but what is insane is that the relatively popular incumbent Republican in the County Judge race, which is the chief executive of Harris County, lost. I think the Democrats basically just threw anybody on their ticket, never thinking they could actually win.

So a year after a billions of dollars natural disaster, and in a year where we have all just voted for hundreds of millions of dollars of county bonds and projects to pay for flood control and all kinds of shit, so anyway....the new chief executive of the third most populous county division in the country is a 27 year old grad student chick born in Colombia, who has only lived in the country for 10 years after her family moved to Peru, Mexico, and finally here. She has only been a US citizen for 4 years. Is currently in law school in a program at NYU/Harvard, and before that graduated undergrad from Stanford (so basically she has pretty much only actually lived in Harris County for a few months). She has never in any way shape or form even attended a meeting of the Commissioner's Court or anything. Basically straight ticket voting elected an incompetent that nobody even knows who the fuck she is and we're all just now finding out about it afterwards.

the number of people that didn't take civics is stunning

Liberals are saying that Democrats won the popular vote for Senates and are pissed that heavily populated states like California only get 2 Senators.

They are using the same logic for the house as they are the Senate - and the comments are just horrible

Whenever liberals lose elections, they say something wrong with the system.

"Liberals are saying that Democrats won the popular vote for Senates and are pissed that heavily populated states like California only get 2 Senators."

Yeah, I know, Founding Fathers and all that shit, but goddamn, so you've got a state out there named "Dakota", buncha prairie dwellers happy to heat their hovels with buffalo chips, but hey, I've got an idea! Let's split up "Dakota" into north and south, so now they've got 4 senators instead of 2 (although they only have 2 house reps total between them). Meanwhile, California with 50 million people who produce probably 20% of the US GDP, they get half the representation in the senate as "Dakota" does. Yeah, that seems real fair...

What if the 26 least populace states all voted for senators from one party and the most populace 24 states voted for the other? That would be a 52-48 controlling voting share in the senate. What percentage of the overall population would be represented by the people in control of the US senate? Don't look it up, just take a guess...

the senate, acting alone would be a problem but the house is intended to be its balance

Their bitching about the House of Representatives just shows how moronic and stupid they are. The differential in the popular vote mirrors the percentage seats won in the House of Representatives.

In 2010, when the Rs received the same majority of the popular vote, it was all okay to have the current system.

The Democrats are playing their usual games while counting votes in Florida, trying to steal the election from Scott and DeSantis.

Local election officials in heavily Democrat Broward county were supposed to count and report all early votes BEFORE the election. They are still counting them three days AFTER the election.

Broward was also required to report the number of early votes in their possession. So far, they have refused.

As usual, there are reports of "newly discovered" ballots "found" in garages, trunks of cars, etc.

It's all so predictable.

In a 5-4 decision the SCOTUS screwed Al Gore of a FL win that would've made him president. May have made a difference 9/11-wise, definitely would've made a difference wrt insufferably long wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hanging chads, ballot inconsistencies, roll purges, precinct closings etc

Repubs crying foul in FL is a joke.
