Thank you Seattle. Bengals -Steelers was a great game. The slow start and losing Green & Hall hurt but they proved they can hang with the big boys. DB is still a concern, even more so now. Baltimore can be beat. At home, I don't know.

I couldn't resist looking that up:
The Gare Montparnasse became famous for a derailment on 22 October 1895 of the Granville-Paris Express that overran the buffer stop. The engine careened across almost 30 metres (98 ft) of the station concourse, crashed through a 60-centimetre (24 in) thick wall, shot across a terrace and sailed out of the station, plummeting onto the Place de Rennes 10 metres (33 ft) below, where it stood on its nose.
All of the passengers on board the train survived, five sustaining injuries: two passengers, a fireman and two crewmembers; however, one woman on the street below was killed by falling masonry. The accident was caused by a faulty Westinghouse brake and the engine drivers who were trying to make up for lost time. The train chief incurred a 25 franc penalty and the engine driver a 50 franc penalty; he was also sent to prison for two months.

If Ok State wins out, you have to give them a shot at LSU if the Tigers hold up. But if OK St loses and Alabama doesn't, then you absolutely have to make the BCS championship game Bama-LSU. Fuck Oregon and fuck Clemson. Neither of those teams would have a chance to win.

Watch the manipulation over the next two weeks. By the time of the Okla/Ok State game, Oklah will play Baylor and they will be ranked number 3 in the AP ahead of Alabama, thus insuring the winner of the probability of being in the BCS.

hopefully
a 9-6 BCS championship battle of field goals would be too painful to watch
Luck did not impress me saturday night . guess we will wind up getting him--can't even beat jaccsonville at home--I think we are two games up now for #1 pick so we can afford to win a game now and not lose that.

Yeah I feel the same way Crash. If the Colts take Luck or whomever, they need to have Manning back so that QB can learn and develop under him like Rodgers/Farve situation.
This team on the offense side is putrid. They simply cannot move the ball and Painter is not the answer. Since the Saints game, this team has shit the bed non-stop. Time to flush the coaching staff and keep Polian on a short leash. Fire them mid-season and get the Pornstache Meshiah here in Indy, ASAP.
No way the Colts win will a game this year. The ass beating from Baltimore and New England that is coming up is going to be borderline criminal.

I know this isn't how the NFL works but Manning is clearly responsible for 5 - 6 wins just by himself.
There is always going to be a rookie QB in the draft. I wouldn't jump ship on Manning. They bring in Luck and he is going to end up being the QB in one of those teams that would pay him to run the team - Zona, St. Louis, Miami, etc.
Luck isn't going to turn this team into winners as a rookie.
If he is done, then he is done and you get Luck, but if Manning has some years left in him, you keep him and build a team up around him so you can hand off an offense that has some weapons to a rookie.
That's my take anyways.

If you want to keep Manning for 3 more years you trade the pick for a bounty and draft a qb with one of those picks you get.

I still have nightmares of Mike Brown turning down the Saints offer of their entire draft plus a few later #1s for the chance to take Ricky Williams. Instead we pass to take the great Akili Smith.

The Colts will also have to look at having to replace Wayne, Freeney, Mathis, etc. It's not just that Peyton's hurt, it's that they're getting older at some other key positions, and they've not done a good job of retooling the OL, the LB corp and the secondary.

I know people won't see it this way, but the Big 12 is actually very, very deep this year (and the conference is mostly playing 9 tough games each (and also Kansas). I think a one loss Big 12 team has as good of an argument as any other team in the country besides Alabama and I think a 1 loss Big 12 team should play LSU over Alabama.
The Big 12 has a taken a prestige hit due to realignment, and our fans especially are derisive about its quality (The "Hey Pawl..." contingent will probably disagree vehemently with this next part also), but the reality is that we will face a much weaker slate next year in the SEC than we did this year in the Big 12.

I would favor the OU/Okie State winner over Oregon. No doubt.
I think Bama is better than all three of the teams I just mentioned, though. We are liked by voters, too, because we're a 'historic team'. That and our current BCS #3 ranking, hopefully, will help us get to the game over some others if Okie State loses.
