Well I am sure the Hillary camp will call for me gun control and tolerance for the Muslim religion as the past attacks over U.S. and Europe are the past 8 years are all just lone wolves who had access to guns and were not right in the head.

There have been two mass stabbings so far in the USA in 2016 - one was a robbery gone wrong, with 5 killed. One was a terrorist attack and the lone fatality was the attacker.

There are no recorded mass strangulations or mass bludgeonings to date this year.

There have been 138 mass shootings in the USA this year, with 200 killed.

So if we just ban drugs, and vow to confiscate all drugs, then all the drugs will just disappear, since everybody who traffics in drugs will all dutifully turn their drugs in, and then all the drug problems will be solved, right?

Just kidding - deleted the OD reference. The point is: it's easy to kill with a gun, compared to killing with a knife, a bat or bare fists. It's hard to shoot someone when you don't have easy access to a gun. We have 340 million guns in a country of 310 million people.

So if the liberals' ultimate wet dream is realized, and the government decides to ban all guns, and orders mass confiscations of all guns, like they did in the UK and Australia, what percentage of those 340 million guns do you really think will be obediently turned in? Probably not a very high percentage. And what percentage of those 340 million guns will remain in the hands of people who are crazy and/or intent on mass murder? Probably a very high percentage. That is indisputable.

And if so what was the point in invalidating the second amendment and depriving law abiding citizens of gun ownership in the first place? It just made a bunch of liberals feel good about themselves as they soil themselves after yet another mass murder in a post-gun confiscation America.

Well, if 50 were killed in Orlando, that leaves 137 mass shootings with 150 people killed. That's basically one death per mass shooting. I'm sure I remember several where far more than one person was killed, which would leave the rest with well below one person (on average) killed per mass shooting event. Somehow this isn't adding up...

You can own a rifle or shotgun in the UK with a license. They have about 50 or so homicide deaths from guns a year...1 a week. I think we had two while I typed this out.

I don't do the gun debate thing because it's a pointless exercise for the most part. Even the obvious stuff like restricting no-fly-list people from purchasing guns isn't doable. Just clean up the carnage and wait for the next one.
