Man, Hillary is gonna be pissed if this one slips away too. First an uppity negro pulls the rug out from under her and now Donald Trump. The Al Smith dinner is going to be interesting this year...

She can't even dispose of a confirmed socialist, with all the rules/establishment in her favor. If the economy was even 70% of what the gobblers believe, she'd have sewn up the nomination in March.

Powell was Secretary of State in a very different time when it came to cyber security. He probably used a dial-up modem for his Windows 2000 operating system. That was a time before hackers were routinely stealing Anthem, Blue Cross, Home Depot, Target, the whole US Government Office of Personnel Management database, etc.

The threat to, and disastrous consequences of, hacking a Secretary of State's email is far greater today than 15 years ago.
Horse crap. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_ ... er_history
1980
The FBI investigates a breach of security at National CSS. The New York Times, reporting on the incident in 1981, describes hackers as[5]
technical experts; skilled, often young, computer programmers, who almost whimsically probe the defenses of a computer system, searching out the limits and the possibilities of the machine. Despite their seemingly subversive role, hackers are a recognized asset in the computer industry, often highly prized

1981
Captain Zap: Ian Murphy, known to his friends as Captain Zap, was the first cracker to be tried and convicted as a felon. Murphy broke into AT&T's computers in 1981 and changed the internal clocks that metered billing rates. People were getting late-night discount rates when they called at midday. Of course, the bargain-seekers who waited until midnight to call long distance were hit with high bills.[6]

1983
The 414s break into 60 computer systems at institutions ranging from the Los Alamos National Laboratory to Manhattan's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.[7] The incident appeared as the cover story of Newsweek with the title "Beware: Hackers at play".[8] As a result, the U.S. House of Representatives held hearings on computer security and passed several laws.

1986
After more and more break-ins to government and corporate computers, Congress passes the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, which makes it a crime to break into computer systems. The law, however, does not cover juveniles.

Robert Schifreen and Stephen Gold are convicted of accessing the Telecom Gold account belonging to the Duke of Edinburgh under the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981 in the United Kingdom, the first conviction for illegally accessing a computer system. On appeal, the conviction is overturned as hacking is not within the legal definition of forgery.[15]

1988
The Morris Worm. Graduate student Robert T. Morris, Jr. of Cornell University launches a worm on the government's ARPAnet (precursor to the Internet). [18][19] The worm spreads to 6,000 networked computers, clogging government and university systems. Robert Morris is dismissed from Cornell, sentenced to three years probation, and fined $10,000.

First National Bank of Chicago is the victim of $70-million computer theft.

1994
Summer: Russian crackers siphon $10 million from Citibank and transfer the money to bank accounts around the world. Vladimir Levin, the 30-year-old ringleader, uses his work laptop after hours to transfer the funds to accounts in Finland and Israel. Levin stands trial in the United States and is sentenced to three years in prison. Authorities recover all but $400,000 of the stolen money.

1996
Hackers alter Web sites of the United States Department of Justice (August), the CIA (October), and the U.S. Air Force (December).

The U.S. General Accounting Office reports that hackers attempted to break into Defense Department computer files some 250,000 times in 1995 alone. About 65 percent of the attempts were successful, according to the report.
All that was BEFORE Powell became SecState and that's just the stuff that is acknowledged. It has long been believed that China has successfully hacked State and DoD computers back in 2002.
During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he answered, "Pay me."

From NYT.....

..But as the Democratic primary contest comes to a close, any hopes Mrs. Clinton had of running a high-minded, policy-focused campaign have collided with a more visceral problem.

Voters just don’t trust her.

The Clinton campaign had hoped to use the coming weeks to do everything they could to shed that image and convince voters that Mrs. Clinton can be trusted. Instead, they must contend with a damaging new report by the State Department’s inspector general that Mrs. Clinton had not sought or received approval to use a private email server while she was secretary of state.

It is not just that the inspector general found fault with her email practices. The report speaks directly to a wounding perception that Mrs. Clinton is not forthright or transparent.

After months of Mrs. Clinton’s saying she used a private email for convenience, and that she was willing to cooperate fully with investigations into her handling of official business at the State Department, the report, delivered to Congress on Wednesday, undermined both claims.....

I must admit, hearing "It was all Colin Powell's (i.e. the Great Uncle Tom's) fault" is a refreshing change from "it was all Bush's fault." But according to the IG report:

Also, even msnbc's Andrea Mitchell saying that the Colin Powell analogy is bogus. Skip to 2:40.

And since hacking is such a huge cybersecurity problem for huge companies and governments, as you pointed out, isn't it incredibly irresponsible for a Secretary of State to store top secret material on a homebrew server in her basement, outside the extensive firewalls of the government systems, where all those hackers could (and did) steal those top secrets with ease?

Slow your roll - Colin is good with Black America. Career military blacks get a pass for being Republican - they cannot climb the ladder otherwise. But Colin (like my USN lifer black Republican F-I-L and USMC lifer black Republican best friend) stood up for BHO (and Affirmative Action) when it counted.

Plus, Colin is married to a black woman from Birmingham named Alma. If your wife is a black woman from Birmingham named Alma, your Black card is good for life regardless of whatever else you do in life (even if you, yourself, are not black).

Rules state that if you send or receive an email, you copy it and put it in a box. Clinton turned over 55,000 pages of emails. Powell turned over zero pages of emails, and hasn't responded to requests for hard copies so far.

Yes, Hillary has been a paragon of transparency and truthfulness when it comes to her emails.
Plus, Colin is married to a black woman from Birmingham named Alma. If your wife is a black woman from Birmingham named Alma, your Black card is good for life regardless of whatever else you do in life (even if you, yourself, are not black).
Would that apply to a white guy named Tom who married a black lady from New York named Helen on "The Jeffersons"?

Is Tom down with the struggle?

Faulkner is just a reporter - not one of the talking heads - she was in the Fox affiliate pipeline before Murdoch bought the news division/TV stations.

Clarke is nominally a Democrat, but they've been trying to kick him out for years. He is mostly a buffoon.
