George Zimmerman says he netted $250G from his gun auction

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nationa ... -1.2647713

Money changes everything, but George Zimmerman is still his same prickly self even after successfully selling the gun that killed Trayvon Martin for $250,000.

The former Florida neighborhood watchman bragged to KTNV between puffs of a cigar and said that he has given the weapon to the anonymous winner of an online auction

Zimmerman, who was acquitted for shooting the unarmed 17-year-old in a 2013 trial, said that he was preparing to transport the 9mm to a buyer in Daytona before unexpectedly receiving a higher bid.

Outrage over the initial sale at GunBroker.com caused the site to take down the auction two weeks ago, and a second site, United Gun Group, ultimately ended up hosting it even through waves of trolls placing fake bids on the weapon.

Now that the cynical sale is complete, Zimmerman says he will likely continue hawking his wares and using the cash for conservative causes.

Zimmerman’s latest interview repeated claims he made about his “piece of American history” on the auction sites, that he would use the money to fight the special prosecutor in his case, Demcoratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Also deemed worthy of his scorn or labeled “racist” were The Smithsonian, which denied his claim that it was interested in buying his firearm, and “Barack Hussein Obama.”

Comparing himself to the Founding Fathers, he said he would “sell anything and everything” to fight his perceived enemies and noted that he would soon be offering signed lithographs of his gun on his website.

Zimmerman also continued his recent mocking of Martin’s parents, saying “I would have done anything for Sabrina Fulton and Tracy Martin to actually have taken an interest in their child.”

For their part, the teen’s mother and father have remained above the tumult of Zimmerman’s new outspoken streak.

After initial news of the auction, The Trayvon Martin Foundation said it “is committed to its mission of ending senseless gun violence in the United States. This election season, we are laser-focused on furthering that mission. As such, the foundation has no comment on the actions of that person.”

If they ever find the K-Bar knife that OJ used to murder Nicole and Ron, think how much that will fetch.

More credit for Brock's booming economy. Looks like he grew it more than I thought.

Wow. The State Dept IG report hammers Hillary's email practices:

Nobody will care, of course, but damn, that was devastating.

I didn't get 'devastating' out of that. She did what her predecessor did (I know, he's not running for prez), but she nor Powell are being accused of anything malicious. Careless - sure.

Anyhoo, it's good to get the IG report out of the way. Now we can move on to Trump's taxes.

I don't think the American electorate shares your rosy assessment of the current economy. About half of Democrat voters (excluding the Hillary toady superdelegates) are Bernie voters, who think the current economy is screwing the little guy. On the GOP side, Trump was nominated by the votes of angry poorer whites who feel the current economy is screwing them too.

It doesn't appear that the voters feel like they are living in the Worker's Paradise you describe.

And it is not surprising that Goldman Sachs - GOLDMAN SACHS! - sees a rosy future. They've been in great shape throughout the Great Recession. And now their indentured servant, Hillary Clinton, will probably be the next President, and all their $250,000 speeches will soon pay off handsomely.

Powell was Secretary of State in a very different time when it came to cyber security. He probably used a dial-up modem for his Windows 2000 operating system. That was a time before hackers were routinely stealing Anthem, Blue Cross, Home Depot, Target, the whole US Government Office of Personnel Management database, etc.

The threat to, and disastrous consequences of, hacking a Secretary of State's email is far greater today than 15 years ago.

This should scare Hillary more than her email scandal, for which a presidential pardon is always her ace in the hole:
A shocking new poll from ABC News reveals Hillary Clinton is losing to Donald Trump nationwide 46 percent to 44 percent. That’s an 11 percent shift from March, when Trump trailed Clinton by 9 points.

What was the biggest driver in this shift in the polls? Surprisingly, it’s young voters.

Clinton’s support among young voters ages 18 to 29 has dropped 19 percent since March — and Trump has gained 17 percent support from the same demographic. That’s a 36 percent swing.

While Clinton leads Trump in the demographic 45 to 42 percent, this margin in the general election would ensure a Republican landslide. Mitt Romney lost the youth vote to Barack Obama by more than 20 percent, and even a 10 percent Democrat margin would still ensure a decisive victory for Trump.

So, why the big shift?

ABC suggests the shift may be defections from Bernie Sanders’ campaign, many of whom are furious with Clinton and the establishment. ABC noted “[a]nother result indicating Sanders-related defections is the number of liberals saying they’d support Trump vs. Clinton — now 24 percent, up 8 points from March.”

“[Clinton is] losing 20 percent of Bernie Sanders’ supporters to Trump,” ABC found.

Sanders supporters, frustrated by what many of them call the DNC “rigging” the primary, are abandoning the Democrat Party over this fight. A poll last week showed 18 percent of millennials, including many Sanders voters, would support third-party candidate Gov. Gary Johnson. If Johnson fails to receive the Libertarian nomination or doesn’t make the main debates, this ABC poll indicates that many more would consider Trump than was originally thought.

This is an abrupt change in polling, and we will continue to monitor this pattern to see if it continues. Just a few weeks ago, 80 percent of millennials disapproved of Trump’s candidacy. Now, 42 percent support him for president.

My best guess? Republican millennials are settling into supporting Trump, while independents and Sanders supporters are disgusted by the Democrat Party’s Super Delegate system and Clinton’s establishment brand of politics. Millennials still don’t like Trump, but right now, they despise the Clinton Machine even more.

The question is: Can Trump take advantage of this attitude? His advisor rolled out an excellent college affordability plan this month. Now would be the time to take it to young communities nationwide, while also continuing his economic jobs-focused message.
