Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
So last year it was learned that we took out the founder/leader of the Taliban, Mullah Omar, and last Friday we killed his successor with a drone strike. We killed a top ISIS commander a couple of weeks ago and operations are underway for the Iraqi army (with our air support) to retake Mosul.
Oprama is in Vietnam and apparently we're going to do more business with them. Then he's on to Hiroshima to NOT apologize for our nuke drop. heh
Markets are up, employment is at 5%, and we're not at war with anybody. There's more people with health insurance than ever before. Polls show for the first time in years that more Americans approve of the prez than disapprove.
And summer is right around the corner. Maybe when oprama gets back from Asia he'll finally declare martial law and roll tanks into our neighborhoods...what'dya'll think?

Your boy Trump is doing exceptionally well in the polls, toe. I think he speaks the language of people such as yourself.
Asked on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" who he talks with consistently about foreign policy, Trump responded,"I'm speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I've said a lot of things."

Well, Trump does have his own idea of foreign policy (largely a libertarian, non-interventionist stance), just b/c it doesn't jibe with the current business as usual, huge defense budget type of thinking doesn't mean he doesn't have one. Also, I think all these people talking about "Do you really want him to have the nuclear codes??" are kinda full of shit. Who the hell DO you want having the nuclear codes? Some dude with a law degree from Harvard? George Bush? How does that qualify a person to have the nuclear codes or to be commander in chief of the armed forces? I know that's just the way we do things around here, but I can't think of any president outside Ike who was "qualified" to make decisions about whether or not to order a nuclear strike...

So you admit the charisma of Trump is, heh, trumping the charisma of the PAH. Funny thing though, never hear the word charisma mentioned in all the adoring headlines of Trump.

Wow, bitter and desperate. The predicted coronation is definitely off the tracks.

But Hillary Clinton’s negatives among women voters are broad and deep. Our poll results, which mirror those of many other recent media polls, show that Hillary Clinton’s unfavorable ratings outweigh here favorability ratings in these areas: In every region:
In the East, 39 percent view her favorably; 53 percent view her unfavorably; in the Midwest, her ratings are 36 percent favorable to 62 percent unfavorable; in the South, 36 percent favorable to 60 percent unfavorable; in the West, 38 percent favorable to 54 percent unfavorable. Among women on the right and in the center: Her ratings among Republican women are 9 percent favorable to 90 percent unfavorable; among independent women, they are 24 percent favorable to 65 percent unfavorable; among conservative women, 10 percent favorable to 88 percent unfavorable; among moderate women, 42 percent favorable to 50 percent unfavorable.
Don't even mention the coal miners....

I think concern about a president's basic sanity vis-a-vis the nuclear launch codes is well founded.hedge wrote:Well, Trump does have his own idea of foreign policy (largely a libertarian, non-interventionist stance), just b/c it doesn't jibe with the current business as usual, huge defense budget type of thinking doesn't mean he doesn't have one. In Hillary's case, I am concerned she'll nuke some wealthy Gulf oil state whose multi-trillion dollar check to the Clinton Global Initiative bounces.
In the case of Trump, I am concerned he'll nuke Russia if Putin challenges him to a penis size challenge and he loses.

Trump echoes Rush Limbaugh circa 1994: "Vince Foster suicide very fishy."
"Not sure what I was thinking when I invited the Clintons to my wedding. Put myself in a lot of danger. They're terrible for America. I said Bill Clinton was great for the economy, now I realize he was a disaster. I mean just awful. I'm allowed to change my mind and still be right both times."

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Ahhhhh, here's why....
On Thursday the Commerce Department announced that the US economy expanded at the slowest pace in two years. GDP growth rose at an anemic 0.5% rate after a paltry 1.4% fourth quarter advance.
Ronald Reagan brought forth an annual real GDP growth of 3.5%.
Barack Obama will be lucky to average a 1.55% GDP growth rate.
This ranks Obama as the fourth worst presidency on record.
Barack Obama will be the only U.S. president in history who did not deliver a single year of 3.0%+ economic growth.
According to Louis Woodhill, if the economy continues to perform below 2.67% GDP growth rate this year, President Barack Obama will leave office with the fourth worst economic record in US history.
