"On August 9, 2007, the bald eagle was removed from the federal list of threatened and endangered species. After nearly disappearing from most of the United States decades ago, the bald eagle is now flourishing across the nation and no longer needs the protection of the Endangered Species Act."

"The two main factors that led to the recovery of the bald eagle were the banning of the pesticide DDT and habitat protection afforded by the Endangered Species Act for nesting sites and important feeding and roost sites."
I don't recall the mouth breathers in here complaining about bald eagle deaths due to DDT...

DDT may have killed many birds and eagles, but the low point in eagle population occurred prior to widespread DDT usage due to hunting, killing them as a nuisance and habitat destruction. Eagle populations have risen since laws protecting them were enacted in 1940, which is also the point at which DDT only just began to be used (ie eagles were endagered before DDT, a concern as far back as the 1920s). Eagle populations actually rose during the peak of DDT usage (although perhaps a more minor recovery than would have been seen otherwise).

playing golf couple weeks ago spotted 2 bald eagles off the 16 tee adjacent to Shawnee lake
never realized how big their nests were.
I noticed golf shots weren't part of the top 10 so maybe they felt safe there even with me hitting

1. Randy Johnson should be imprisoned for his murder of an innocent bird.
2. Windows (the see-through kind, not the operating system) should be banned for their genocide of birds.
3. If Chris Matthews weren't a well-established liberal democrat, he would be in a re-education camp for his sexist comments objectifying women.

Mama Grizzly apparently has been vetted for the 2nd spot and a as a Trump surrogate she's digging her claws into Paul Ryan (with vows to support Ryan's GOP whackjob re-election opponent).
Unlike poor Jan Brewer, she has a shot at veep. 1984 Sarah would be a cinch (see below), and her 2008 self was pretty fine. Currently she could stand to work out and lose 15, and forego the opiates-with-a-glass-of-zinfandel that turn her speech-afying into a jumbled word salad...but she still has potential.
