DS is at ground zero now, the mighty Cape Fear river is in danger of breaching, could cause flooding in and around Fayetteville. I'm sure DS is living in a nice high dollar neighborhood high up on a hills somewhere, in keeping with the manner of living his wealthy debutante wife is accustomed to. Thank goodness Florence didn't come a week earlier and ruin the debutante ball for this year's crop of eligible young ladies, that would've been tragic...

LMAO

We live in the house wherein the debutante was raised, and we will fare fine. Others? Not so much.

The side of the neighborhood in which we live is weird. If you turn right out of our driveway, you’ll run into a string of million dollar homes no more than five hundred yards from my hous. If you turn left, it’s thoroughly middle class, and another five hundred yards beyond that is one of the rougher areas in this part of Fayetteville.

Our basement will have some water, but we are safe on this hill.

The local deb ball will be around Christmas. The social club to which we belong due to my wife’s family is the sponsor, and I’m afraid I will be forced to attend this year. The debutante shit is beyond stupid, as are their less prim and proper first cousins: beauty pageants.

I know the neighborhood in Fayettenam where DS lives. It has a lot of quaint old houses that are elegantly restored. Some nice parks where we used to take our kids. Even a street named after Robert E. Lee, unless they changed it recently. A very respectable neighborhood. I don’t remember a hill, but if DS lives on one, good for him.

I told DS the neighborhood where I used to live in Fayettenam. He called it “split level hell,” which is dead on accurate.

Me and Logan road around Goldsboro on Saturday, somehow we came upon an area that I had no idea existed, but I'm sure DS has spent many a wild weekend there, a redneck Shangri-La known as Busco Beach. Never seen anything like it and don't really want to again. It was like a cross b/w something out a David Lynch movie and Rob Zombie movie. Talked to a couple of locals. Chilling...

I never went there. I was raised six miles south though.

Family friend owned it. Sold it for several million. That place is a cash cow. Several rednecks have drowned or died in atv accidents out there.

Tsk tsk. That’s Haymount. We are on other side of Arsenal/Raeford Road.

I’m safe and sound. If my house floods, the end of the earth is near.

Deer Acres off of Old Grantham Road. It’s between Grantham and Mar Mac. Mar Mac is such a shithole we claimed Grantham...

A half a mile in eastern NC can mean the difference b/w Grantham and Busco beach. In some ways, that's not much. In others, it's an abyss...
