Heh. I only come on here a few times a month and when I do I usually end up scanning a little too furiously for a jumping off point.

I don't care what you think of his politics don't insult a man who was shot down suffered multiple fractures was tortured multiple times by all accounts and refused special treatment to go home early spending 5 years in hideous conditions.

another trump fokup being excluded from all the festivities of the McCain funeral

It's amazing to see how many people who did and would have attacked McCain relentlessly 10 years ago now get to act as if they give a fuck about whether or not he gets the proper "respect"

The same rules of engagement don't apply equally when somebody dies as they did 10 years before he died. You know, when he could actually defend himself...

They don't give a fuck about defending McCain or even that he receives whatever respect they think he's due. Inside they are gleeful that he's dead, and especially that it gives them another avenue to announce their outrage and moral superiority.

Gleeful?? How clairvoyant of you. Certainly the usual suspects on both sides are going to use any event to score the same old tired rhetorical points, but that's a long way from being gleeful someone died in order to do it. By that logic, they would be sad if Trump died, b/c they wouldn't be able to use it against him...

they would be sad if he died and was perceived as a martyr

if they take him down he's going to be a martyr that's for sure

I wish someone was scoring some rhetorical points over your death.

Interestingly, some republican candidate (Kelli Ward) from Arizona evidently suggested that McCain's announcement of his impending death was done solely to distract from her upcoming bus tour...

I guess by aTm's logic, the folks at Fox News were gleeful over the death of that girl in Missouri who was killed by an illegal alien...

Such is the state of the modern GOP...

Both parties suck out loud to vary degrees, but the GOP takes the fucking cake these days.

I dont know about Fox News, but I'm not sure you know people at all if you dont think this was the case. They weren't gleeful over her death necessarily (just like nobody is really gleeful over McCain's death if they have any humanity), but absolutely there were PLENTY who got a little jolt and rushed to the keyboards (or scheduled hair appointments, or sent texts to "that friend") when they heard it was confirmed that an illegal immigrant had murdered her (allegedly I guess).

I don't (and didn't) disagree with that the last part, just the gleeful part. I guess you could say that that the people whose first thought was to wring out rhetoric supporting their side were at best indifferent to McCain's and that girl's death, if not gleeful...

They are gleeful for any reason to virtue signal, talk trash about the other team, and to spike political footballs. I never meant that they were truly glad McCain was dead.
