Alabama just beat Memphis, 82-70. We're missing three players: Collin Sexton (1-game suspension), Riley Norris, and Braxton Key (injuries).

Hopefully this is the start of a decent season.

something is going on with the fans - Rupp had a bunch of empty seats and the student section was about 1/3rd full - on a mild weather Sunday afternoon.

I think fans aren't excited about a team of mercenaries that aren't good enough to win it all.

At least that is my take. I did watch the game though.

They're probably just like me........ getting tired of the OADs. Haven't seen a game yet... probably won't watch one this season.

We are starting 5 freshmen and the veteran coming off the bench is a sophomore who had a below average year before.

I don't want Cal to recruit 4 year guys that suck

but its time to evolve. We aren't going to win a national championship with 5 freshmen starters, especially when those freshmen aren't the first choice guys you're going after. Duke and Kansas are in the fight for the good ones and then you have players like Simmons, Porter and Bamba that don't care whether they go to a major program or not.

Cal needs a veteran leader. A team with John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Daniel Orton and Eric Bledsoe only got to the elite 8. What in the hell is this team going to do?
