Escaped Mississippi murder suspect killed by family he held hostage
(CNN)A murder suspect who escaped from a Mississippi jail was shot dead by a family he held hostage for several hours inside their home Thursday, police said.
After more than a week on the lam, Rafael Arnez McCloud was found dead in the bathtub of a home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, according to investigators.
The homeowner told police a man with a knife, later identified as McCloud, approached him around 4 a.m. Thursday as he and his 5-year-old son headed into the garage. The man forced his way into the home, according to the homeowner.
Hours later, the family used their own gun to fight back and escape.
Homeowner stabbed as he fought with suspect
A statement released by Vicksburg Police on Thursday evening gave details of the attack that ended with McCloud's death.
"According to the homeowner," police said, "he was bound in the bathroom by the suspect. The homeowner said he was able to free himself, fought with the suspect and sustained a stab wound to the back side of his shoulder."
The man, his wife and his child were held in the bathroom, police said. The situation turned when the wife was allowed to leave the bathroom at some point, police said.
"The wife returned with a handgun and fired one shot believing to strike McCloud. After the husband's bonds were cut by the wife, the husband took control of the weapon and fired additional shots striking McCloud," police said. "The family then ran outside and flagged a motorist and asked them to call 911."
When investigators arrived at the scene just after 7 a.m., they found McCloud in the tub with multiple gunshot wounds.

Man shoots and kills wife, attempts suicide
EL PASO, Texas -
El Paso County Sheriff's officials say a man shot and killed his wife, then tried to commit suicide by shooting himself Saturday morning.
Officials say at , 8:59 a.m. Saturday, they were dispatched to the 3800 block of Vander Veer in reference to a welfare check.
Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Office deputies found the male and female property owners inside the home with gunshot wounds. The female was dead and the male was taken to a local area hospital in critical condition.
One neighbor told ABC-7 crews the couple were married and said the couple also had a troubled past.
The neighbor said in July the man poured gasoline around the home and threatened to burn it down.
She also told ABC-7 she found the couple's 5-year-old boy on the sidewalk crying. When she asked the boy what had happened, he replied "They are dead, they are both dead."
That's when the woman called 911.
The man survived and is in critical condition.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene.
The investigation is open and ongoing with no further information at this time.

So Trump says he may give legal aid to the old cowboy dude who sucker-punched the protester being led out of the arena last week. No one in their right mind can defend a cheap shot like that...thereby begging the question, is Trump out of touch with reality?

Pacific Palisades High School - right between Santa Monica and Malibu. If you went any further left, you'd be in China. The worst of it (what I posted) was cleaned up before the news got there.crashcourse wrote:is that soCal?

Cali is a microcosm of America. You have L.A., San Diego, Oakland & San Francisco as places of enlightenment. The rest of the state is Oklahoma.Professor Tiger wrote:There are racists in California?

Aaaah.... the Okies....
If that happened in a school, there were probably cameras. And if there were cameras, that means the perpetrators will probably be caught. Please let us know if that happens and who they were.
Yes, it is possible that some rednecks drove all the way down from Bakersfield in their old pickup trucks to do this. But if that area is to the left of China, there's also the possibility that they were local social justice warriors acting on behalf of The Revolution.
Fake hate crimes are common on liberal college campuses.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
I would actually include most of coastal California as places of enlightenment (Monterey, Santa Cruz, Marin County, Mendicino, Humboldt County) as well as much of the interior of northern Cali. I realize Sacramento is not usually considered a hive of enlightenment, but it's no Bakersfield. And Chico, Redding, etc., might not be as well-known, but they are virtual conclaves of neo-hippies. Further west, the Sierra Nevada's are home to viral pockets of liberalism. Oklahoma it ain't. Finally, California is fixin to legalize weed in November, then the dominoes will start to fall...Johnette's Daddy wrote:Cali is a microcosm of America. Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
The clashes we have seen so far have almost exclusively been at Trump events.
Why is that? Because organized groups of left-wing agitators intentionally come to Trump rallies to provoke his supporters. According to the New York Times, the protesters “fling themselves to the ground, forcing law enforcement officers — often outmanned and overwhelmed — to drag them away. They also shout and curse, making obscene gestures.” They should not be surprised when they get a reaction. Walk into a blue-collar bar and start taunting people that way, and you are likely to leave without some of your teeth.
The fact is, if the protesters were holding peaceful protests outside his venues, there would be no violence....
What we are witnessing is the latest example of the American left’s totalitarian instinct to shut down speech that it finds abhorrent. Trump is not the only speaker to be driven off a college campus in recent years. In 2013, student protesters forced Ben Carson to cancel his planned commencement speech at Johns Hopkins University. In 2014, student activists forced Brandeis University to cancel a commencement-day speech by author and activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Also in 2014, protesters forced former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice to cancel her commencement speech at Rutgers University, declaring that “war criminals shouldn’t be honored” by the school.
What do these speakers all have in common? They are a) black and b) conservative. If the Trump protests were about race, then why are left-wing activists equally insistent on stopping black speakers with views they don’t like? Rice didn’t call for a Muslim ban, but she is just as unacceptable to the radical left as Trump.
Also in February, he told a rally, “If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them. . . . I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees...”
That is highly irresponsible. But Trump understands that it is also why his supporters love him. Unlike Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) — who let Black Lives Matter protesters take away his microphone — Trump does not back down when people try to stop him from speaking. His supporters see a man who stands up for himself and believe he won’t let the United States get pushed around either.
The vast majority of his supporters are not violent or bigots. One reporter covering his campaign described them as “almost unfailingly courteous.” They are ordinary people who see their jobs, their country, their ability to earn a fair wage and support their families slipping away — and feel abandoned by their party’s establishment. They are desperate for a savior and think they have found one in Trump. When they hear Republican presidential candidates and pundits blame them for the violence, they are alienated even more.
Yes, Trump’s call for a Muslim ban, his spewing of conspiracies theories about 9/11 and Iraq, his embrace of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Middle East dictators, and his calls for protesters to be “roughed up” are all repulsive. But for many Americans, the left’s smash-mouth tactics are repulsive as well.
Trump understands this, which is why he is milking the protests to his advantage. He is using them to rally blue-collar America by saying we’re not going to take this anymore — we are not going to bow to the Alinskyite tactics of the radical left.
