Wrong assumption. I am not an Okla St. fan just like last year when I wanted Auburn to win the championship but am neither a Auburn nor an Oregon fan. This year, I would have liked Ok. St. as the big underdog

Well I for one am looking forward to bama punting, pinning LSU down deep instead of missing fg's--the defense rising up and in a battle of field position and special team punt coverage--winning 12-10. woody hayes and bo schembechler would be proud

on another channel OSU and kstate battled in an epic 52-45 thriller that had everyone biting theirnails/screaming/jumping up and down with fast exciting play --this time substitute stanford for kstate

to each his own --would you rather watch a 1-0 pitching duel or a 9-8 late inning slugfest

bottom line though is okie state in addtion to the iowastate loss--went down to the wire with both kstate and A&m and could have lost both. alabama dominated every other team winning by > 1 score every game except there one loss. bama deserves to be #2--okie state would have been more entertaining at least til the 3rd quarter when they would be behind by 2 plus scores
better chance the 4th quarter is still a tight game with bama then withe okie

BCS got it right. Doesn't mean I wouldn't rather watch LSU destroy okst and Bama annihilate Michigan.

Okst would suffer the same fate as every other high powered offense in the BCS championship game: LSU would win upper 30's to lower 40's to okst's upper teens.

If Woody and Bo enjoyed it, I'm sure Bear would have too. Must be a good thing.

Are these official?

For UF -

instead of hosting Auburn and playing at Ole Miss in the middle of the season, we go to TexAM early and host Mizzou late.
Open Date choices are either Week 5 (Sept 29) or Weeks 11/12 (Nov 10/17). I can't imagine them scheduling games 10 straight weeks without a break so now we can look forward to some horrid tomato-can games back-to-back on November 10 and 17. (with FSwho following on Nov 24).

I didn't like expansion past 12 when it was first talked about and I like it less now.

We'll be done with SEC play 3 weeks before 8 other teams. All so we can play LaLaf and Jax St on consecutive weeks before FSwho. pffft

4-2 against outside competition in bowls this year. Vandy is excused, Georgia not so much.

Make that 5-2. Would it be outrageous to have a final ranking of 1-Bama/LSU winner, 2-Bama/LSU loser, 3-Arkie?

There is no way #6Ark will pass #3 and one loss Okla St. in the rankings.

No, but they should. Oklahoma State is a missed chip-shot FG away from having 2 losses and not even being in the top 10. A 6-7 Iowa State took them to double-overtime. Arky would whoop their ass.

Okla. St. is a questionable missed FG call away from being undefeated and playing for the National Championship and they just beat the 4th ranked team in the country

Yeah, but they're NOT undefeated. And a sub-.500 team took them to 2 OTs. Stanford is not the 4th best team in the country by any stretch of the imagination. They would have lost 4 games playing in the SEC. Oklahoma State would be fortunate to only lose 4. Stanford had that game won and a choke by their kicker saved Oklahoma State from finishing outside the top 10.

Arkansas lost 2 games, but they were to the 2 best teams in the country -- either one of which would have steam-rolled the likes of Oklahoma State or Stanford.

I don't know why the FG call would be questionable.

Honestly, not only did oSu lose to 6-7 Iowa State, they really should have lost to Texas A&M and Stanford. For that matter, they didn't look that convincing vs Kansas State. The game was tied with 2 minutes and change left to play.

They could easily be a 4-loss team. They aren't, and that's to their credit, but I agree that Arkie would stand a very good chance at beating them.

Oklahoma State allowed Kansas State to score 45 points (this, alone, makes any argument for the Cowboys utterly laughable, BTW). They needed a TD with 2 minutes left to beat the Wildcats by 1 score. And KSU went right downfield and was on Oklahoma State's 5 yard-line, poised to tie the game again, when the clock ran out.

Compare that to the 16-point margin of victory by the Hogs, who led the entire game and didn't allow KSU to score in the last 26 minutes.

Game. Set. Match.

So in answering my own question, it wouldn't be outrageous, but too many folks outside the SEC would be outraged.

Game, set, match
Except they won't pass Okla St. That's GAME, SET, MATCH and whatever else you want to call it. In fact, Ark will not pass Oregon. It ain't happening.
