Then what do you do to eat? $500 a week is a typical LA rent for a 1 bedroom apartment that you share with two immigrant families.

Median is the average pastor's salary (half make more, half make less) not the average salary of pastors which would be skewed by a few high numbers. Median would not change at all if 25 mega church pastors salaries changed from millions to to 90k

I mis-wrote. Avg. Pastor's salary is $90K. The big TV/Mega preachers make entertainer money. The rest of us live off of manna (according to our members).

A Congress That Doesn't Want to Weigh in on War - NYTimes
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ ... id=U142DHP

So the WH keeps asking Congress for a war declaration on ISIS, and the chickenshits keep turning him down. Boehner tried to stir up a war vote and was rejected. Now it's Paul Ryan's turn and he's not even going to step up to the plate. Mr. Ryan, while sympathetic to the argument that Congress has a responsibility to weigh in on military action abroad, told Mr. Thornberry and others that voting to authorize war was something very few members of Congress wanted to do.

I suggest all you patriots contact your congressman and senator and demand that they join the President in the fight against ISIS. (I would do the same with my republican congressman, but years ago he rejected the Iraq war and is against any and all forays into the ME).

Maybe it's because no one is sure who the President will point the guns at once he gets war powers.

FYP.

Reince Priebus might get water boarded soon after the PAH gets sworn in. Worse, he could wind up in Ft. Marcie Park.

So the WH earlier this year asked for legislation banning persons on the terrorist no-fly list from getting a gun permit...and the House said no. I mean...wtf? "You can't fly, potential terrorist, but a Bushmaster is yours for 700 bucks."

Couple that with the AUMF rejection, and you really have to wonder. Just as a test..oprama should have made noises in favor of Keystone just to see how many gop legislators would have run from it.

WRONG. The Constitution applies to non-citizens within the borders of the country. For example, the police cannot simply detain a German tourist indefinitely with no trial, simply because they choose to do so. Non-citizens will not be arrested for denouncing the govt on US soil.

The Bill of Rights is not a set of privileges that only citizens enjoy...they are RIGHTS enjoyed by all within the borders of the nation

Only noncitizens that are here legally. Carter shipped some Iran students back to Iran and the court upheld. The point is that the constitution does not protect those who are trying to get in this country.

That right wing nut job site, the Huffington Post, mocked how easily and erroneously anybody could get on a terrorist watch list:
7 Ways That You (Yes, You) Could End Up On A Terrorist Watch List

1. You could raise "reasonable suspicion" that you're involved in terrorism. "Irrefutable evidence or concrete facts" are not required.
2. You could post something on Facebook or Twitter that raises "reasonable suspicion."
3. Or somebody else could just think you're a potential terror threat.
4. You could be a little terrorist-ish, at least according to someone.
5. Or you could just know someone terrorist-y, maybe.
6. And if you're in a "category" of people determined to be a threat, your threat status could be "upgraded" at the snap of a finger.
7. Finally, you could just be unlucky.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/2 ... 17599.html
So Obama is proposing a law that denies people their Constitutional rights based on bullshit like this. Based on the partisan, thuggish, and completely unpunished criminal behavior of Lois Lerner and John Koskinen at the IRS, we all know what will happen next. Anybody who posts something on Facebook or Twitter that is dangerously conservative gets put on a terrorist watch list and can't buy a gun. Anybody who belongs to the NRA gets put on a terrorist watch list and will have their guns confiscated. That decision of who gets on the list and disarmed is made by some bureaucrat in Washington with no due process whatsoever.

Be careful what you ask for. Conservatives might play this game too. If one group of citizens can have their constitutional rights stripped just because liberals don't like them them, then there's nothing to stop conservatives from doing the same to liberals. I can easily imagine President Trump's Attorney General Ted Cruz putting every member of Black Lives Matter, NOW, NARAL, AFL-CIO, ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN on a terrorist watch list and denying them the right to vote or practice journalism or get an abortion. Those people are dangerous, you know.
