I guarantee this includes plenty of Dems that will vote for the PAH next year....

The FBI conducted a record number of background checks driven by firearms sales for the month of November, indicating that gun sales were at an all time high for the seventh month in a row.

The Bureau processed 2,243,030 checks through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in November, an increase of 236,111 checks over the previous record set in 2012. Background checks have continually set monthly records since May.

The numbers were fueled in part by record sales performed on Black Friday. The FBI did 175,754 checks no that day alone, the Trace reports.

Since all firearms transactions done through licensed gun dealers, including all new gun purchases, require a background check, the number of checks done in a month is considered a reliable measure of gun sales. However, the standard does not represent a one to one calculation for a number of reasons. Federal law and most state laws do not require a background check on sales of used guns between private parties. Additionally, some states perform FBI background checks on those who apply for gun carry permits.

With 19,827,376 checks performed thus far, 2015 remains on pace to break the record for checks in a year. In order to pass 2013’s record of 21,093,273 checks there need to be 1,265,897 checks in December. December hasn’t seen fewer than 2,000,000 checks since 2011.

Gun rights activists said the combination of increased calls for new gun control measures from leading Democrats and recent terrorist attacks have driven the record sales numbers.

“Between the red hot rhetoric calling for new expanded gun control laws and acts of violent terrorism it is no surprise that people are stocking up on guns and ammunition,” Alan Gottlieb, who created the Second Amendment Foundation, said. “This trend will continue as long as the public feels threatened by government regulations and believes that they are the first line of defense when it comes to Homeland Security.”

The half eaten body of Riggins was found in a Barefoot Bay lake just north of Ocean Avenue Way on Nov. 23. He was missing his lower extremities and part of his arm, deputies told the Orlando Sentinel.
I mourn the gator.

I let my NRA membership lapse about 10 years ago. That will soon change, thanks to the full-blown lunacy of the Left regarding guns.

I'm also in the mood to buy a new gun. I'm getting tired of my 9mm. It's time for a REAL pistol - a Browning 1911. Maybe also a Springfield Armory M-1A (aka an M-14). It's almost Christmas, after all.

I have needs.

Trump demonstrating again how conservatives, the "champions of the Constitution", really think most of the Constitution is a bunch of shit. The 2nd Amendment is the only, and I mean ONLY, thing that's truly sacrosanct.

We're pretty fond of the first amendment too. Like the part that the government can't tell you what to believe or how to practice your belief. For example, the government can't force Catholic nuns to pass out birth control or (coming soo) punish churches that don't perform gay weddings. We also like the freedom of speech part, which is why the whole PC speech police act is wearing very thin. We even like the freedom of expression he press part. We can't stand the MSM because they are so incredibly biased, but I've never heard a conservative that wants to shut them down.

Heh. No. "We" = we conservatives, in response to DSL's post about how conservatives selectively love the Constitution.

Real conservatives also love the 10th Amendment, which says the powers not enumerated for the federal government are reserved for the states. Unfortunately, the Republican Party doesn't believe that nowadays any more than the Democrats do.

Los Angeles PD recruits come out of the Academy making $61K. After completion of probation, base salary of LAPD officer of lowest rank with NO college degree is $65K. An officer with a 2-year (AA) degree, or prior military/prior law enforcement experience is $67K. http://per.lacity.org/psb/lapd_salary.htm

Average LAPD officer makes $93K http://www.sacbee.com/site-services/dat ... 1879452730
Average LA County Sheriff's Deputy makes $100K
Average Beverly Hills Cop makes $125K, which pisses off LAPD officers.

Full Professor at UCLA, tenured with 10 years' experience, PHD, etc., makes $92K - http://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel- ... 516/T1.pdf

Isn't that chump change money in LA? As I'm sure you know better than anyone around here, the cost of housing alone is double or triple the national average. The extremely high CA state income tax, gasoline tax sales tax, property taxes, and assorted "save-the-planet" taxes gobble up a lot of that up too.

For the city/county of Los Angeles:

Average LAPD Officer - $93K
Average UCLA Professor - $92K
Average Senior Accountant (CPA) - $91K
Average Non-Profit Executive Director - $90K
Average Toyota District Sales Manager - $85K
Average Registered Nurse - $83K
Major, United States Army, 10 years experience - $83K (including combat pay)
Average LA School teacher - $76K
Average Civil Engineer - $70K
Average General Contractor - $66K
Average LA Postal worker - $57K
Average LA Building inspector - $56K
Average Sparkletts Water delivery driver - $41K

So things are tough for everyone in Los Angeles . . . but for a career that doesn't require a college education, most cops are paid more than many folks whose jobs require grad school and/or professional certifications. Add to that the fact that it is almost impossible to fire a cop, the medical/retirement benefits are unmatched and they are protected by the strongest unions on Earth . . . and most never draw their guns in action . . . it's a pretty good gig.

(Full disclosure: median Senior Pastor salary in Los Angeles - $90K)

Combat pay in LA? Must be deployed to Compton or Watts.

Neither. Try driving in West L.A., Westwood or anywhere in the South Bay, especially after lunch. It's brutal. The only thing worse than a rich, entitled LA Hausfrau driving in her $150K SUV while talking on her cellphone is that same hausfrau trying to parallel park the son-of-a-bitch on Wilshire Blvd. at the height of rush hour. That's hazardous duty.
