celebrating my 50th year on the planet (albeit a few months premature) with a colonoscopy tomorrow.

only clear liquids today and some colon blow stuff tonight that I have to consume at 6pm and at 3am. Can't eat again until 1:30pm tomorrow.

In the course of 12 months I will have had a camera shoved in every hole of my body. After tomorrow it better be a looooong damn time before any of that happens again.

Actually, the whole procedure has gotten much better since I first had one in '89 or so. My last one wasn't bad at all, in terms of prep, and the drugs were sublime. I went to sleep and then woke up without grogginess.

I remember being half asleep on the way home in the car with my mom in '88 or '89 and suddenly feeling a sharp pain in my stomach before blowing out a tuba-sounding fart that sort of woke me up. Now they make sure you do all that before you leave.
