For the record I drive a 27 year old pickup truck.
I wouldn't put you in that category. But there are plenty around here who think pussification is a liberal/Democrat/young/intellectual malady and they leave their house on Saturday night wearing a blouse to take their wives out to $100 dinner and drink wine. Wine! I spit my grandpappy's Levi Garrett on them

that 27 yo pickup is the Toyota I take it

thinking seriously of selling mine just tired of all the little shit going wrong. likely need exhaust manifold and weather that alone is causing it to die out in idle I don't know. runs fine with my foot on the accelatro --idles down and dies at stops or even doing 20 if I let off the accelerator,
pump filter plugs distributor all good

maybe throttle body or something in the fuel injector system but it really gives me no trouble when I accelerate

but so many little things going on with im sure more to come time to get rid of it

at least twice a month someone offers to buy that truck off me.

I'd clean the throttle body first, then look for some part like an idle control valve. After that I'd go after the distributor/timing.

My dad got a new car (used car but new for him) so he said I could have his old one, a 2009 Buick sedan (Lacrosse I think). It's a typical old man car, but that's what I drive anyway and for that matter have been driving most of my life (had a 4 door Impala when I was 16 and that's pretty much all I had all thru college, great car) and now have been driving a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis for about 10 years, coming up on 300K miles. I should get rid of the Mercury and upgrade to the Buick, but I just can't do it yet. Doubt I could get $1500 for the Mercury, but it's a great car...

I drove an Impala for years, and hedge was fortunate enough to ride in it one day. He was impressed by the cleanliness (except for the stray empty cigarette pack or empty beer can).

No, but it still looks enough like a cop car, irregardless of how slovenly it is on the inside (plus small dent near the gas cap) that it makes it hard to score drugs in it...

Those early 2000's Tahoes and Suburbans were/are great vehicles. I have several friends who have had them 14-15 years and have 250-300k miles on them without major issues. I had a 2002 Suburban as a second vehicle until my wife burned up the motor in it last year by not following my instructions when she called to say the engine was running hot. She said she had an important meeting and that she couldn't wait for it to cool down and put water in it and that it was too warm out to run the heat at full blast (you do that to pull heat off of the block).

Needless to say, tensions were high for a few days. Then I broke down and found her a new (albeit a 2016 that was still on the lot) Suburban (she has to have a suburban for her decorating jobs (plus they're great for tailgating), and they're not that much more expensive than a Tahoe).

Sounds like her plan worked to perfection...

White F-150 here. It replaced my previous black F-150, which was preceded by another white F-150.

My aunt worked for Ford for 40 years and let me use her A plan. She’s going to let me use it again when the new Broncos come out. God bless her.

I'm sure Prof drives a luxury pickup, being the Fancy Dan that he is.

I had a F 150 for awhile. I finally sold it because I was tired of people asking me to help them move.

I had an F150 too

I sold it because I replaced the engine, the radiator, the heater core, the water pump, the fan clutch, the core pack (twice), the thermostat, the shocks, the front brake calipers, the wheel hubs, the a arms, the ball joints all within 3 years. The last straw was when the window caulk rotted to the point that when it rained, water was channeled into the fuse block inside the engine and the truck wouldn't start for 2 days.

I fucking hate Ford trucks.

Like I said, my previous F-150 was black. I am very diverse in my tastes. I feel personally responsible for slavery and Jim Crow, and have a lot of guilt to expiate through my truck color choices.
I fucking hate Ford trucks.

I had my dad's Ranger for a few years and it was probably the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned

The Ranger is coming back in 2019, and the Bronco in 2020. They'll have the same chassis.

Long live Ford!
