At the beginning of the clip, Condoleeza Rice illustrates why Americans need the 2nd Amendment.

I don't listen to anyone that says "I'm a defender of the second amendment but"

automatic credibility issue.

Correct. Even the CEO of Delta Airlines, who just signaled their virtue by cutting their ties to the NRA, and therefore lost their jet fuel subsidy from the state of Georgia, says they support the 2nd Amendment:

They didn't restore their ties to the NRA though. Virtus intactus.

They got $40 million worth of virtus interruptus for their moral preening.

That said, I think the better way for NRA members to register their disapproval would be to fly some airline other than Delta. Like NFL and ESPN fans did with the politicization of pro football and sports TV.

I'm not comfortable with the idea of politicians giving or withholding tax deals to business because of their support or lack there of an organization with huge lobbyists.

Delta should suffer in the consumer market with gun owners rejecting their business like they are with Dicks Sporting Goods.

Delta has nothing to worry about. The kind of moron worked up over this is a hillbilly who rarely ventures more than 20 miles from the place he was born. These people don’t fly.

On a more cosmopolitan note, the 20 mile radius limit clearly does not apply to you...

So Delta lost $40 million in income for the sake of theatrically expressing their ethical superiority over a whole 13 customers who actually used Delta's discount, which was offered only on flights to/from NRA national meetings anyway. That comes out to $3+ million per evil, racist, and unsustainable NRA customer.

Brilliant. Visionary. Sheer genius.

The cost is a drop in the bucket for Delta now. Both sides win, Delta gets the good guy pub, and GA legislatures look like they are standing up for gun owners. Either way, Delta stays in Atlanta because it’s the biggest city in the Southeast

Delta does $40B in revenue. $40M is a small price to pay to announce to the world that they do not want to be aligned with a bunch of fucks who are willing to trade the murder of thousands of people for their continued existence of their worthless hobby.

If change happens, it will take generations. Our culture is broken and fixing something like that takes time.

"its not changing so get used to that worthless hobby being a part of America for the rest of your life and your childrens lives."

I really don't know about that. Who would've thought even 20 years ago that gay people would be getting married? Certainly 40 years ago many (most?) gay people were in the closet, scared to even be openly gay. Cultural change can take place mighty quickly. Also, as far as "never gonna happen" predictions, just remember recently how few people gave Trump a chance in hell of winning the republican nomination, much less the presidency. Yet there he sits. Somebody misjudged the mood of a pretty big part of the country. Perhaps you are doing that now with regard to guns. Just saying....

not with what Cletus wants - its one thing to push for some aspect of gun control and consider that a win - Clinton banned assault weapons, we've had the Brady bill, there has always been reactionary legislation that has come thru at one point or another, But a total gun ban? nope, not happening. I'm confident of that - not in 10, 20 or 40 years.

but your Trump point is valid, just used wrong

The media is out there saying "its different this time, we have momentum, polling says America is ready for gun control"

just like they said Hillary would win.

I’ve never said there should be an all out ban on guns.

We should have much stricter gun laws. We should have no guns. Make it impossible to get a gun or ammo and, over time, they will disappear.
