Michigan / Oregon could go down to the wire. Not impressed with Oregon at all. Michigan either, for that matter, but at least they're a 7 seed, so they have an excuse. But they could easily win this game...

Michigan is impressive for a 7 seed. I was hoping Oregon would win because they are without a key player. I don't see them holding up in the next game

WV/Gonzaga was a good game.

The ending was kind of anti-climatic

3 of the worse endings ever. zona Michigan and westvirginia with chances for last possession heroics all crash and burn miserably. how zona gave up that game put the final nail in my brackets fokkers

and of course to pour salt in the wound purdue dominates the bigman matchup inexplicably starts shooting 3's instead of working the inside. the kraut plays well the first half for some reason they didn't bring him back in til < 10 minutes left. KU's big threat lucas was on the bench and they had some guy in who only played sparingly the last 1/2 of the year

oregon doesnt stand a chance though
smarty jone lock of the year

you can pencil in KU into the final game.

Oregon and Xavier/Gonzaga all will lose by double digits.

zona was the only team with a chance

I watched every game last night. I can understand this argument because Kansas has played with such high scoring dominance, but I'm not buying it.... yet. I think Kansas would smoke Xavier, but they haven't played a team like Oregon or Gonzaga yet. The "match ups" kind of.... meh, its not as obvious. And match ups are what this is all about.

Lets be honest, Gonzaga did NOT match up well with WVa. The Mountaineers played THEIR GAME for pretty much the entire game; offensive rebounds, steals, forcing the Zags to travel in coffin corner traps, forcing turnovers, everything. That was a brutal match up for Gonzaga. So the Zags had to return to their bread and butter, use their big men inside (where they pretty much have the advantage over every single team left in the tourney), very tight defense, force WVa to take terrible shots (and WVa never had a "good shot".) But Gonzaga did that and still played within the boundaries of WVa's play the whole game. Just barely won at the end and it could have gone either way specifically because they didn't match up well.

Oregon and Gonzaga could "challenge" Kansas because they may not match up well. Remember VCU playing Kansas about 5 or 6 years ago? I think it was the Elite 8, and VCU dispatched them because they didn't match up correctly.

I think any one of UNC, UK or UCLA might have something to say about that (if UNC can even get by Butler, that is)...

For this weekend and my big money bracket, I am an Kentucky fan. I need them to get to the final four and lose to Kansas along with Gonzaga not making final four. If so, I could be in line for about a 4k payday.

Go Cats!! (this weekend)
