I'm glad to be off to boo the Tar Holes in person and then watch the Devils play a road game. Go Hogs! Go to Hell, Carolina!
You'll be a sad little man by 11 p.m.
I was 10 minutes late.

Duke's problem was SC shooting 70% in the 2nd half.

They ended up shooting a respectable 37% from behind the arc, but a few of those were desperation 3's after the game had pretty much been decided. Yeah, they beat us twice this year by shooting lights out, but that's not usually a recipe for making a championship run. Certainly hasn't been for Duke lately. Every one of their championship teams had solid post play and didn't rely almost solely on jacking up 3's. Pussy shot factor fails again. I love it...
The whole ACC was overrated this year.

That one and done thing isn't as easy as it looks, eh Duke fans?

Hard to argue with that based on tourny results. I do think Dook was obviously a better team than USC this year, but they were, as usual, susceptible to losing to an inferior team. They amply proved throughout the year that they knew how to lose in bunches and to some pretty bad teams (well, NCState at least), but everybody focused on their good wins (and they had several) and forgot about their bad losses. I must be getting old and soft, but I actually kinda felt bad for them last night. Not during the game, I was pulling for SC and cursing Duke almost as much as if it had been us playing them, but after about an hour after the glow had worn off, I did feel kinda sorry for them. But not that sorry...

this is what happens when Duke and UNC don't get to play their opening rounds 20 miles from home

The leader of the yahoo brackets has picked every game correctly so far except for Middle Tenn St. in the first round...

Well not that anyone cares and not trying to pull a DS but I work with a kid who just recently graduated from IU and apparently has connections with team managers and such. Billy D is the choice apparently and heard from another older IU grad that boosters are saying the same thing.
My only problem is if they wait and he backs out /changes mind / wins NBA title, they are going to be holding their dick in their hands with no coach.

I suspect the crowd distribution in Raleigh or Greensboro would've been similar to last night. Either of those would've been an easy trip for SC fans, and Greenville is actually closer to Charlotte, where I'm guessing the highest concentration of Duke fans in NC reside outside Durham. Plenty of UNC fans in Charlotte, too, and I suspect more than a few in SC. Anywhere in the New York vicinity would've been more favorable to Dook than anywhere in NC (or anywhere else in the country, really)...

"they are going to be holding their dick in their hands with no coach."
So you're saying IU is a 12 year old boy?

IU should do everything they can including taking out a loan to get Donovan

This kind of shit annoys the hell out of me:
“Those last three minutes were remarkable,” Theo Pinson said. “We’ve talked about that all year, just talking about locking in defensively, and we did at a perfect time.”
No, jackus, the perfect time to lock down on defense would've been at the end of the first half, when you were up 13. Then you either maintain or build on that lead and you're up double digits at half. Or, barring that, another perfect time would've been, oh, any time in the second half when Arkansas was erasing and then surmounting your lead and going up 5 with barely 3 minutes left in the game. Waiting until then to lock down on defense was not "the perfect time", it was pure desperation. If you think you can wait until desperation kicks in over the next 4 games, you're going home...

Kobe has stated he was UNC bound because he wanted to play with VC. He stated as much on Kimmel last year.
Garnett was always UNC bound.
Norwitzki was supposedly UNC bound but UK got in on him late and made a huge push.
Saint wrote:Actually, the only guy who really did say he would have gone to UNC is Dwight Howard. I always heard that Garnett was going to UNC because Shammond Williams is his cousin. I always heard Kobe was going to Duke, not UNC. There was speculation about LeBron going to UNC because he liked Jordan but that was always a moot point.
I do remember Hedge's brother telling me about this German guy named Nowitzki that Henrik Rodl was supposed to deliver to UNC but I'd never heard of Nowitzki at that point. A short while later, everyone knew about him. I had seen that story on him going to Kentucky before.

Just like the 60's and early 70's, you're paying for the engine in those muscle cars...and shit handling (when compared to other vehicles with similar hp).
