It was probably written after you were already through school.

Basically a child of divorced parents is flying from one to the other in a little two seater plane that goes down in the wilderness (I think in Canada) and then has to survive for like a year or so. The main tool he has is a hatchet. I can't remember how exactly he manages his rescue from the wilderness, but it involves going back into the plane's cabin (which had sunk in a lake) to retrieve something-inspite of the fact that the rotting corpse of the pilot is still in said cabin. Maybe flares? Its been like 20 years since I read it.

Almost has a Jack London feel to it thematically. Hmmm.

I'm more of a Mailer, Pynchon, Vonnegut kind of guy. Melville had his moments, though I just couldn't ever really appreciate the Old Man And the Sea.

Heh. Just realized I wrote that. I also do that with Fitzgerald's work. Like, I'll occasionally attribute the Grapes of Wrath to Fitzgerald and not Steinbeck.

Why is Steven A. Smith still on ESPN? I'd rather hear Mook give a speech on Japanese cartoons.

SAS is a clown. He must have impressive photos of some high ups from a 1999 holiday party.

Mook, a tornado came through the area where the kid was camping and after the storm, the tail of the plane was visible in the little lake in which it had crashed. He went in, found the survival gear, which included a gun and a radio. He got the radio to work and it sent out a signal.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.

I think in Hatchet, its a girl who's father makes her eat soured mutton stew and then proceeds to chop him up along with her step mother when he is asleep on the couch.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Which reminds me, I saw "Paranormal 3" yesterday.

Meh. It's paranormal 1 and 2 but with an evil grandma.
