LMBO, now Arnett has applied to Notre Dame. Just shows what Dooley already knew. It wasn't about his father it was about playing time.
He just wanted to transfer and use his father as an excuse.

He isn't going to uga. He didn't play their and they fired his dad.Jungle Rat wrote:Im not questioning his integrity, just his decision on this considering he'll bolt the second Georgia calls. If you were in a job and saw people you believed you were better than get promoted over you wouldn't you think it might be time to move on? Father situation or not, my beef is why can a coach basically transfer at will but player can't? They both signed contracts committing to the school.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
His dad is alive.
He is probably leaving due to bagget leaving. Supposedly dad was never in his life and he using as an excuse. Of course maybe his da reached out after getting sicker.
Dooley released him to div I schools. Kid can still go wherever the hell he wants. Just has to pay his own way first year. He has to sit a year no matter what unless he wins an appeal or goes fcs.
But he has to finish his first year at ut to even be eligible for a waiver appeal with NCAA.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Damn. Sad to hear that. He's a piece of shit then. Get his butt out of here and get someone in there who wants to play. With Hunter comming back next season and still having Da'Rick, we've got two great receivers who can free up everyone else so they can get things done assuming they are worth the uniform they are wearing. We can get other receivers in here. We are fine in that position at least.Big Orange Junky wrote:LMBO, now Arnett has applied to Notre Dame.
Now let's talk about the defense...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Wilcox and Sirmon gone to Univ. of Washington, per ESPN and KNS.
That's too bad about Wilcox, but not unexpected. And Sirmon is supposed to be one of our best recruiters. This could really have a negative impact on our incoming signees.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
I have no problem with what Dooley did with the WR. It will be used against him in recruiting, though.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
A lot of stupid things are used to sway kids in recruiting. This is not one that worries me in the least. If a kid is worried that he may not be able to leave for another team, then his head isn't in the right place to begin with.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
They're both west coast guys. Wilcox has probably viewed the Pac Ten as his ultimate destination ever since he was at Boise. The only reason he ever became a candidate for the DC job at UT was Dooley's familiarity with him, due to playing against his defenses every year when he was at La. Tech. He always felt like a temporary hire. Sirmon's a former Pac Ten assistant who will be returning to his home state.

So when does he transfer to Alabama?Orangefreak wrote:File this under "fuck me". DeAnthony Arnett is asking for a release from his scholarship to leave school. Supposedly so he can be closer to home. He had a great upside to him and was heading in the direction of being one of our more valuable receivers. This hurts us.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
I have mixed emotions regarding the coaches leaving. I'm like Hack, they were West Coast guys ala Kiffen. I'm not shocked they left. Plus, there was a bit of a question mark on just how good Wilcox was as a coach, at least in the SEC. Ultimately, I'm not going to cry.
What's ticking me off though is it seems to be increasingly hard to find some stability on this team as of late. The offense seems to be comming on along fine albiet a bit slowly. We seem to be perpetually screwed on defense though. Starters getting hurt like crazy with few people to replace them with. And now the coaching staff is up and leaving.
This has got to stop.

Then we never should have hired him. Now we have to try and hire a third dc in four years with what everyone thinks is a lame duck coach.
Players have to learn a new scheme...again.
Fuck.
