Oh my, the bane of tick and JD, the uppity colored, thinkin' he's all educated, strikes again.

Washington (CNN)Ben Carson says the United States should not elect a Muslim president.

"I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that," the retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Pope Francis embodies sanctity but comes trailing clouds of sanctimony. With a convert's indiscriminate zeal, he embraces ideas impeccably fashionable, demonstrably false and deeply reactionary. They would devastate the poor on whose behalf he purports to speak — if his policy prescriptions were not as implausible as his social diagnoses are shrill.

I disagree with the pope's pronouncements on climate change. (You'd think that the Vatican would have learned their lesson with Galileo and been a little more restrained in their pronouncements on science).

But his passionate advocacy for the poor, his recognition of the dangers of unfettered capitalism, and his critique of Western frenzied materialism, are all pure Christianity.

Steve Schmidt, who served as Republican Sen. John McCain's top strategist in the 2008 presidential election, said it's problematic for the GOP to be seen as intolerant, particularly with moderate voters who help sway the general election.

"Of course it's worrisome if you have a party that's perceived as anti-Latino, anti-Asian, anti-gay, intolerant of Muslims," Schmidt said.

Asked specifically about Carson's comments on NBC, Schmidt said it exposed him as an amateur politician and underscored his "total lack of understanding about the American political system."

Apples to apples: Compare HRC as FLOTUS to her predecessor, Barbara Bush, or her successor, Laura Bush.

HRC - pushed Clintoncare, which is basically Obamacare with regional exchanges. Actually had a maningful post-FLOTUS career.
Barbara Bush - did a great job picking new carpet for the WH residence.
Laura Bush - advocated for No Child Left Behind, which the GOP has acknowledged as a failure and is trying to take apart even now. She picked really nice carpet for the WH residence, however.

Compare HRC to Condi Rice as SoS:

Condi - asleep at the switch (as NSA) during 9-11, architect of the collapse of Iraq (which was our firewall against the ISIS' and Boko Harams of the world), supervised failed policies in the Balkans, Middle East, Chechnya, Haiti and the Pacific Rim.

FIFY.

Capitalism by definition creates poverty. Someone wins and - in its purest form - the loser becomes the winner's serf or slave.

Capitalism is the best form of economics yet devised by man. But it needs some guard rails. Pure capitalism leads to a world that strongly resembles "Oliver Twist" - with 9 year olds working 100 hours a week in coal mines and textile mills. And when the 9 year old get his his arm ripped off by a dangerous machine or gets black lung disease, he gets fired and left to rot. Sucks to be you.

JD, neither Barbara Bush nor Laura Bush nor Condi Rice are running for president. If they did, they'd be laughed out of the race.

But Hillary IS running for president. And she is running on a record that is barely more accomplished than Babara's or Laura's or Condi's. Yet Hillary's pathetic list of qualifications isn't getting the laughter it deserves.

PS: Neither Barbara nor Laura nor Condi might need a presidential pardon to stay out of jail.
