Alabama's weakness is pass D. Georgia passes the ball well. It'll be a tough game and it wouldn't surprise me to lose.
Preseason, no one had us in this game. LSU was the heavy fav. So, I'm proud we made the game, and I'm sure we'll try hard to win.
No one wants to hear the following except Bama fans: the thing is, this Bama team is very young. We'll be even better next year.

Georgia has a shot. I'm so excited to have a chance for the MNC.

I do like that a Georgia player provided some early bulletin board material:
Georgia Safety Bacarri Rambo told College GameDay on ESPN Radio that the Bulldogs have better players across the board than Alabama.

I pray Bammer wins b/c I want to see them curb stomp the Irish. I suspect Georgia would beat them pretty handily as well, but Bammer will be more fired up considering their historically horrid bowl record vs. ND...

Rambo has been playing brilliantly, but I really didn't like he let that comment fly. We'll see if he backs it up. I do know Jarvis Jones will be the best player on the field, and Georgia's defense has been playing well enough to stone Bama's offense. However, a great defensive performance won't mean anything if Murray has a horrible day. He simply has to play his best game of the year to win.

Pfffftttt.
Rambo's comments won't make a damn bit of difference.... Richt is tired of having a hot seat and won't take his foot off the gas...
Marauding Bulldogs 37, Bama's overmatched youngsters 16

Sand bagging is expected, but it is possible that is exactly what happens. I hope so though!

I agree DDAL. Bama opens at a 7 1/2 favorite from what I'm reading on woolly. The game should be interesting.
I actually believe Alabama wins, but it will be competitive. UA is far too balanced on O and D... we've lost 5 games in 3 years and the worst loss is by 14. We don't have a Hightower this year on D, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better lb corp top to bottom in college football. J. Wiliams is demanding two o linemen per play, don't sleep on Brandon Ivory when Williams gets a breather, and our front 7 overall is pretty tough.

We played 5 common teams... what worries me is there is only a week between the games, Georgia played an easy Ga Tech team while UA faced a cut throat group of killers who happen to be a division and conference foe.
Yes, Bama is in trouble.

Yes, 5 common opponents. Bama beat our 5 by a score of 208-44. Georgia beat theirs by a score of 223-94. Average MoV of 33 for Bama and 26 for Georgia, for a variance of 7 (which coincidentally is the line, or close).
Remove the high and low events and it's a bit closer: 3 games, 126-30 for Bama and 134-50 for Georgia. Average MoV of 32 for Bama and 28 for Georgia, for a variance of 5.
Bama won the common opponent MoV metric against 3 of the 5 (Tennessee, Auburn and Mizzou). Georgia won it aginast Ole Miss and FAU.
What is this good for? Absolutely nothing. Say it again. Uhh!

So Bammer has one close win (LSU) and one close loss. UGa has 3 close wins (two of them being to UK and UT) and one very bad loss. Not sure if you can draw any conclusion from that, but there it is...

Do you think the fact Georgia played in the game last year will make a difference in their favor? I'm not sure it matters. Georgia's defense is certainly more experienced from a games played standpoint, but Bama's defense is more experienced at winning big games recently.
I assume Bama is going to win because of their track record of discipline and execution in big games, but I like Georgia's chances because of talent and desire.

I don't think last year's game helps or hurts. Just like Bama winning the title last year doesn't help appreciably.
I think Bama's defense is a shade better and I think Georgia's offense is a shade better. I think Saban will do better in prep and Richt will do better game-day.

Are any of you going? I am going to this one mostly sober. I need to be able to pay attention and my sight will need to be keen from the nosebleeds that I will be able to afford... I am so excited already. Saints coming to town on Thursday only makes the week even better.
