so why is everyone in here agreeing with my base political/economics view on the day I'm out on a field trip to a state park with the homeschool group?

The crazy old black would-be city alderman from NY nailed it: "Rent too damn high!"

Why does anyone need $100M, much less $100B? Reagan might have actually believed trickle down would work but there has rarely been evidence throughout history that it has. The middle class has been under assault for the past 30 years after reaching its zenith in the 50s and '60s, the postwar years when Depression-era children were growing into adulthood and weren't encumbered by greed. Now it's just more, more, more and there seems to be no end in sight. The tech-eratti that created the Y2K scare that played a major role in the economic bubble of the '90s are on the fatcat side now and are not incented to come up with some other type of tech boogyman to get corporate America to start throwing its money around like DS in a room full of fat strippers.

Wait, eCat is now a full blown socialist and Saint is a homeschooler.

I think I will take off work early and get drunk...

"the postwar years when Depression-era children were growing into adulthood and weren't encumbered by greed."

I don't think there's ever been an era in human history (or animal history, for that matter) that wasn't encumbered by greed...

If my choice was capitalism prior to 1903 or socialism 2015, I'm going with socialism

you ever been in a situation where your wife and you are driving in a car, she gets mad at you and then gets out of the car?

I assume she expects you to chase after her and beg her to get back into the car.

But instead, you just drive home and make her walk her ass home from Target.

Makes for a long night when she finally gets home drenched in sweat.

a series of comments on my part about her getting mad at other drivers culminating in her backing out and almost hitting another car driving by and her getting mad at them.

she just left my ass in the passenger seat in the middle of the parking lot.

I love my wife but I don't play the chase after her, beg her to get back into the car game.

She actually talked to me this morning but its still pretty frigid around here.

That type of thing was more common in my 20s and 30s. It would be neat to watch a nearly 50-something couple play out that drama in the Target parking lot.

You should see Wal*Marts parking lots. Sometimes the kids and I pick up Steak & Shake and just sit in the car watching. "HEY! THAT GUY LOOKS LIKE BLUECAT!!"
