bluetick wrote:Obviously Manning and Brady don't square off against each other; they operate against the defenses of their respective opponent. NE's defenses have always been higher rated than Manning's team's D, and that's just a fact. This year, thanks mostly due to injuries, the pats D is not as formidable as years past and is frankly on par with a fairly porous bronco D.

So to my mind it's even-steven. Even though Brady is playing in the same system, with the same HoF coach, as always. Whereas Manning is with his 2nd team and 4th head coach.

I can take it, whatever happens. If Brady leads his team to victory, then I'll concede he is the best and will change the thread title to reflect same.

Facts and logic will not be tolerated in this thread. Team sport arguments will also not be tolerated in this thread.

You sir, will be banned, shot, fined, tarred, feathered, and slapped with giant salmon for even attempting such tomfoolery and bullshittery.

May god have mercy on your soul.

"Whereas Manning is with his 2nd team and 4th head coach."

funny, all we heard for years is that it was "Peyton's offense" and he's the offensive coordinator and he was basically the 'coach' on the field....

the fact he has burned through four head coaches may mean he's a coach-killer....

Dude you are reaching with coach killer. That is just pants on the head retarded.

As far as your other statement, Manning doesn't play defense. And just by the numbers, if you thrown enough passes or your team is down big numbers and you have NO choice to pass, kinda makes it a little easier to defend.

Could he have a better playoff record? Sure. Was it all 100% his fault? Nope but he deserves some blame.

How did I deflect? Jesus harold christ. He didn't miss a FG to beat Miami in the playoffs. He didn't blow the coverage last year against the Ravens. He didn't give up 44 to the Jets. He didn't let the Chargers RBs dominate the games against them.

However, he could have been better against the Steelers and Titans and the Pats a few times even though that was during their cheating days :-)

With all that being said this is how I now feel about the current Colts team versus older Colts teams - Against the Pats this past weekend, I didn't check the weather forecast cause with this new Colts team, it doesn't matter to them.

caldwell calling timeout against the jets with less then 30 seconds allowing the jets to regroup/call one more play. This moved them from a 50 yarder to win to a 30 yarder to win will always be his crowning achievment in the AFC playoff a couple of years ago

funny how you blame Raheem Moore and conveniently forget Peyton threw the INT in his own end of the field in overtime that gave the Ravens the 'gimme' game-winning field goal.

and, of course, Terry Porter comes to mind too.... i guess that must have been the 'run defense's fault'? the 'idiot kicker'? 'we had, um, I'm trying to be a good teammate here, um....some protection problems'....

You pick out 2 plays that sure, you want to argue were on him, fine. I point out the other items and you still manage to blame him.

heh @ 10ac

Brady is a helluva qb and he will go down as one of the all-time greats. In the history of the NFL, he has the best looking wife and I doubt she'll be be topped in my lifetime.
