Here is an example of why you must protect the right for people to have guns. You can’t rely on govt to protect you.

So, these people feel unsafe because of the potential for gun violence and your solution is more guns. This is insane. The only sensible way forward is to immediately begin phasing out guns. Set aside $200B per year and start a guy buyback program. And then begin to phase in laws that make obtaining guns progressively more difficult. Over time, there will be a lot fewer guns and a lot less gun violence. It won't be perfect but it will be a lot better than the fucked up situation we have now.

If the government wants to tax grad students studying toward lucrative degrees like MD's and MBA's, then shouldn't the government PAY grad students studying towards totally unmarketable degrees, like art, sociology and gender studies?

Incorrect. Evolution favors creatures with fangs and claws and stingers for one simple reason: they are equipped to survive in a cruel world long enough to reproduce, and their progeny are similarly equipped to do the same.

Evolution does not favor creatures that are inherently weak, have no claws or fangs or teeth to defend themselves in a cruel world. Creatures like that are usually eaten by animals with strength, claws, fangs and teeth. And their progeny - if any - are usually for dessert.

Good stuff. Leftists have spent the last 40 years categorizing everybody according to their identity politics tribes. And each "good tribe" is expected to think of themselves as members of their own tribe, above all else. And the "good tribes" are assigned various degrees of victimhood. And the more victimized your tribe, the more you should feel aggrieved, and angrily demand reparations from the "bad tribes."

It seems to never have occurred to the leftist tribalists that the members of the evil tribes - whites, males, heterosexuals, Christians - might eventually get tribal too. The bad tribes might eventually get sick and tired of being hated simply for our race, sex, orientation, and religion. And they might notice the people who hate them because their race, sex, orientation, and religion are the same people who parade themselves as being "open minded, enlightened, better educated, morally superior, pluralist, tolerant, non-judgemental and inclusive." And they might especially get sick and tired of being blamed for every other tribe's problems, most of which were caused by those tribes' collective choices.

You'd think people who are supposedly smarter and better educated would have figured that out by now.
