Is McElwain as odd a cat as he seemed during the post game interviews after LSU?

There was a ton of subtext in those interviews. Bad, bad blood between the two schools over the reschedule and over some insults LSU has been throwing Florida's way for a few years.
But, no, Jimmy Mc, is very cool.

What kind of insults?

Joe Alleva (the LSU AD) called Jeremy Foley (the Florida AD) a diaper-wearing pussy and told him he was gonna be Burr to his Hamilton. Later, he said that Foley's kids were runts and needed to be neutered....and only part of those insults have a shred of truth. Foley does indeed wear diapers from a leaky anal sphincter, but he is biologically a male (supposedly).

Alleva was sober enough to say all of that?

The AD is being extra dickish to take attention away from the coaching change. Had Miles still been there, LSU wins the game; he always had the perfect play at the crucial point to beat UF.

UF needs to score at least 28 points to beat FSCFW today, sadly the best this offense can do is 20 on a good day.

Agree with going for it on the first drive. 100%

Did not like the opening drive ending - kick the FG establish momentum. UF's offense is lousy on 3rd and 4th and short, noles stop them and all the momentum gained from that opening drive evaporates. Not that either way is a factor on the the final result. How many points did I say UF needed to win?

Coach Mac - to borrow an old political campaign slogan: It's the OLine stupid! This is 7 years in a row now of absolute crap on the front 7. FSwho reportedly had mediocre defense this year, what the hell is Bammer going to do to them next week? Go recruit a shitload of good linemen and don't bother coming back this Spring without them.
yes I know it could have been worse - we could have lost to Vandy.

Going for it on the first drive was the right call.
Our defense picked it up the last half of the year (helped in large part by facing some trash offenses, including last night). While I like Charles Kelly (our DC), I don't think he's up to the job. Unfortunately some lousy timing has foiled any opportunity at making a change. He took a very talented defense in 2014 to mediocre performances, then they outperformed expectations in '15 so AU came calling and we had to give him a stupid contract. Then they underperformed again this year but we're stuck with him.
I really hope UF gives Bama a game next week or even beats them. Bama would still make the CFP and almost certainly win it, but it would be fun for CFB to see.

No, the fuck, it wouldn't be "fun for CFB to see." It would be as fun as the beloved family dog being ran over by a garbage truck, cracking his poor little spine and causing massive internal injuries where, somehow, he weakly crawls to the side of the road, dragging his paralyzed hind legs behind him, and him suffering for hours before dying a slow, painful, horrible death alone.

"It woulda been good for the Gators to beat the Noles. Won't change the Noles' bowl berth and CFB would think it's fun to see."
No. Just no.
