But then she just starts piling it up again. Also, needless to say, on any trip of even one or two nights, she and the girls pack as if they're going on a world tour. We go down to mexico for a week, I'm literally sitting there with a plastic grocery bag with my stuff in it waiting to go, and then here come the multiple 50 lb. checked bags plus carry-on's, purses, etc. And by the end of the trip, I haven't even worn half of what I have in the plastic grocery bag...
I'm getting the feeling that her dildo collection is intimidating you.

Finally finished the new back basement wall at my moms house. You wanna talk about old shit. She & my dad bought her house in 1975 & she still has the same hoses, sprinklers, pots & pans, plates, appliances, wallpaper, furniture etc. as the day we moved in there when I was 8. Her place has so much potential in a great area but it's gonna take at least $100K to update it even after the wall fix. I might just sell it once she passes but it might be fun to see how I can update it.

my wife also goes out and buys used shit all the time, $10 here, $10 there. but it's not the money so much as it is buying shit (which really I could care less if we had or not) and then 6 mos. later swapping it out for some other $10 yard sale score. and lately, we've started to build up random scraps of furniture.

but like eCat, my work shop, garage, whatever is full of shit I hauled over from my dad's house along with a bunch of shit of hers and mine as well as shit we keep intending to sell at a yard sale. I just need to throw it all out, get cable hooked up out there (already has the wiring for it) and put in the AC that works and take out the one that doesn't, find an old recliner and keep my ass out there most of the time.

"College dropout" might be generous; I've heard him say before that he never came close to getting a degree. I think he had passed 4 college classes at three different schools when he left and started working for Carter.

16 minutes? Can someone give the Cliff Notes version (which seems apropos, considering that that's evidently all he read in college)...

Do people get paid to do those things or is it considered an "honor"?

You often get an honorary doctorate for your troubles.

Actually, that address gave him enough credits to qualify for the UNC football team.

when I worked at the shipyard, there were 4 of us that comprised the entire IT department. All the old fuckers there had no idea what to do with a computer back in the early 90's and we might as well have been aliens from outer space to them. We'd come in, work for 4 hours and then play games the rest of the day on the network. They had no idea what we were doing. The shipyard was so big we'd get paid travel money to go to the other side of the river and if you did it twice a day, you'd have enough money to pay for lunch, so most of my mornings were spent flirting with the east bank (that was the other side of the river offices) women , go get lunch and play Doom or some other stupid game on the network for the rest of the day with the guys.

We were a tight knit group, all of use were about the same age and ended up hanging out with each other until the economy tanked and we decided to pursue jobs elsewhere. My first date with my wife was to a Marilyn Manson concert with two of the guys in the group. I went to work for the company I'm with now and one of the guys moved to Houston and went to work for a competitor of ours. We haven't kept up like we should and we grew apart.I just found out today he lost his job about a year ago and decided alcohol was the answer to his problems. Drank himself onto life support in a years time. His kidneys and liver are shutting down on him and he doesn't have much time left. He has a boy 2 years older than my son and girl the same age as mine. Funny thing, I tried to find him on Facebook last week and couldn't. I thought it was odd given he was the tech guru of the 4 of us and would have been the first to get on it.

You guys don't know him from Adam so its just another internet story but this is the first time I've ever had a friend go off the deep end like this. I guess I've led a pretty charmed life not to deal with these kinds of tragedies of anyone really close to me.
