many cops and first responders make a little more then a manager at mcdonalds. my kid was offered 15 a hour to be a county sherrif full time not the best benefits in the world and hes always wanted to work full time --but he makes more money delivering packages so that's where hes staying

maybe cops do deserve a bad rap with all the incidents we've been seeing but I wonder if the pendulum isn't swing too far and we aren't going to see a swing twords cops not being able to do anything for fear somebody has a cellphone that can only show a certain part of a situation. the hatred and disrespect of the police as a whole due to the actions of some --why would a white cop want to go into the hood and flash any sembelence of authority?

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me that the NAACP should tread carefully if they want to fire Dolezal (the Caitlin Jenner of race).

If they fire her for being white, then she would have an excellent legal case of racial discrimination since it's illegal to fire someone simply because of their race. If they fire Dolezal for falsely representing herself as black on the job application, then she would have another legal case of racial discrimination since it is illegal to not hire someone because of their race.

Any comment from the HR or lawyer-types?

I doubt if any of you are on "Black Twitter" but it's a roaring debate. Some of us find it mildly amusing and mostly sad, but there are a few (primarily black women) who want to either forcibly commit Dolezal to a mental institution or stone her to death.

Melissa Harris-Perry Thinks It’s Possible Rachel Dolezal Could Actually Be Black

On Saturday, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry met the ire of social media after seemingly asserting that Dolezal could actually be black, despite the fact that Dolezal’s parents have said that their background was everything but black—Czech, Swedish and German.

“Is it possible that she might actually be black?” Harris-Perry questioned.

“I want to be very careful here, because I don’t want to say it’s the equivalent of the transgender experience,” she said. “But there is a useful language in ‘trans’ and ‘cis,’ which is just to say some of us are born cisgendered and some of us are born transgendered.”

“But I wonder, can it be that one will be cis-black and trans-black?” Harris-Perry added. “That there is actually a different category of blackness, that is about the achievement of blackness, despite one’s parentage?”

Dolezal's parents basically ratted out their daughter because they've been estranged from her for 9-10 years. They said they felt the need to 'set the record straight"....that they taught their children "to tell the truth."
