Bomb Russia. But save one for Hedges MHFs house too. I'd say save one for his house but then I started laughing because hedge owns no house. Freeloading roach.

Bill Clinton was the face/dignitary that the USSF used when presenting/promoting its world cup 2022 bid to FIFA. Qatar was awarded the bid instead in December of 2010 and Bill Clinton was reportedly PISSED. The DOJ began investigating FIFA for corruption in early 2011.
Clinton probably banged all the FIFA committee's wives.

Ted Cruz wants the Fed govt to "live up to its statutory duties" and send disaster relief to Texas in the wake of the flooding.

Same Ted Cruz voted against sending any relief to the victims of Hurricane Sandy

RE: Hillary, if she's corrupt, lock her up.

But the amount of money in that Blumenthal article is a pittance compared with the enormous sums being extorted around the world by FIFA officials. $110 Million in bribes is alleged to have been paid in relation to the 2016 Copa American alone

http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2015/05 ... pa-america

The World Cup is worth billions and the result of this culture of graft led to Qatar winning the 2022 bid. Qatar has a miserable human rights record, extreme summer heat, no soccer history to speak of, and has effectively been using slave labor to build its stadiums. It's estimated that close to 900 workers have possibly died while constructing these things. Foreign reporters who investigate get harassed or arrested as this BBC team did.

Buying a home wouldn't make sense for me now. For way less than what I would have to pay in mortgage, insurance, taxes, maintenance, etc., I could rent something and not have to worry about any of that stuff. And considering I would take 20 years to get any equity worth worrying about (and who knows if we'll have another housing crash during that time), I don't see a house to live in as a very good investment at this point...

The economy got off to an even weaker start this year than first thought, the government reported Friday, as economic activity contracted amid a disappointing trade picture and continued caution on spending by businesses and consumers alike.

The 0.7 percent decline in economic output in the first quarter of 2015 was a reversal of the initial 0.2 percent advance for the period reported last month by the Commerce Department.

But hey, unemployment looks dandy!!111

houses are just as good as investing in stocks/bonds etc.

I have bought 3 houses --owned the first one 88-94 made 15K on it second one 95-2003 made 20 K third one 2003-now--should make 50-75k k if sold today

advantages--tax write off has to be worth an extra 5K off my tax bill a year
10 years from now I don't have a mortgage anymore so no house payments anymore--whether I live in this house or another my equity would be enough I should be able to buy a 200-3k house without a mortgage

I really haven't had any structural issues on any of my houses no major repairs--got siding and windows in this one which was 20K but other then that I'd say less then 1K in house upkeep a year
if the housing market tanks which it will but then again everything else tanks soon thereafter so your screwed anyway

If I read that right, you made about $100K over a 26 year period. That's roughly a 2% return on investment.

I wish hedge would be fixed

invest 45 K make 60 k on first house that's 15 K 33 % return over 7 years works out to over 4% a year

second one invest 70 to make 90 that's a 28% return over 9 years over 3% a year

third one invest 195 sell for 245 easilymaybe 275 in this market at least 25 % return 2.5% a year over 9 years

don't know if hedge has 4000 feet and 3 acres to roam around

I'm also ablke to use equity to pay any higher interst loans cars etc I may have and cut my taxes down

why pay 10K a year in an apartment that has about a 1000 sq feet if your lucky --

that 10 k over 25 years would have hedge owning a 250,000 dollar hoiuse if he would have paid 1000 a month into a house instead of renting an apartment

I don't think $10K a year in mortgage payments is going to have you owning a $250K house in 25 years...

no you would have to pay 15K a year at 4%to get it in roughly 25 years

still beats paying rent and looking up after 25 years with no equity

It is worthless to discuss how good of an investment a home is without much more analysis than simply price when you bought it and price when you sold it.

The rental market alone is a huge factor. I could lose money on my condo when I sell it, but based on the current rental market in my area I am coming out way ahead. The rent on a comparable apartment (or to be even more exact the rent that I could charge by renting out my unit based on what others go for) is roughly $500/month higher than what I'm paying in Mortgage/HOA/Taxes. Every month I live there is an invisible $500 gain that is simply what it would have cost me to rent my place if I didn't own it. And that value may or may not show up in the value when I sell, depending on economics when that occurs.

More obvious things are how much does it cost you to borrow the money, how much did you lose in the transaction costs, etc which many ignore.

When you rent you are still paying the property taxes, maintenance fees, mortgage etc. The only thing you're not paying for is insurance, maybe. But ya still have to carry renters insurance. No multi property owner in there right mind rents just to come out even. (except me on beach property) They are making money on you. Probably more than you realize. The only difference between owning and renting is coming up with a workable down payment.

From 20 until 26 I rented. Didn't have a choice. I hated throwing money away. Since then I bought one in 94, rehabed it, sold it in 98. Within a week. Then I built one in 97-98. Loved that house. Loved wine more. Couldn't tell ya what it sold for. Very blurry time. I still think she screwed me on that thing too. Oh well.

Rented in Granville for 3 years following my rehab program.

I own beach property which is mostly rental income. I break even most years but equity is the key.

I bought my mom's house 5 years ago. We tried the son nurse thing but um, no. She falls to much. She now lives up the road 20 minutes. They have doctors and nurses. I had a "Help I've fallen and can't get up!" button and chlorophyll for when the ambulance gets here.

Made good money on my new companies 1st rehab. Much better than expected for our 1st try. Looking for another but I'm gonna be pickey. I'm just glad we made a profit.

In the next 2 years (if I live that long) I'm going to put 100K in this house. Built in 1970, updated last in 90. Seriously. 2 story. Worth about 300k. But around here they are knocking down everything and building something at least twice the price. And they are making a killing.

The P&G/Gillette merger started it.

Ya gotta be more specific. I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning. Hell, I can't remember if I even had breakfast this morning. I remember cheetos though.
