I'm just waiting for something to happen next in Pittsburgh. Then the Bengals will continue their AFC North dominance.

And predictably, Putin accuses the US of "meddling in internal FIFA affairs" and that we have no jurisdiction to arrest those who used US banks and US soil to transfer their bribes

Putin will do what he usually does when he's unhappy: gather the media, rip off his shirt, and give Obama another wedgie.

I will say that Putin and his cronies have to be feeling nervous and mounting pressure to achieve some other big military success. Oil prices haven't recovered and aren't likely to do so for years. It looks like a bunch of dirty laundry is about to come out in this FIFA scandal and the billions they've already spent on this World Cup could blow up in their face. And the billions they've invested in Assad is starting to look like a bad investment too. Tide is turning rapidly against the Syrian Butcher

Islamic State leaders in Syria have sent money, trainers and fighters to Libya in increasing numbers, raising new concerns for the U.S. that the militant group is gaining traction in its attempts to broaden its reach and expand its influence.

In recent months, U.S. military officials said, Islamic State has solidified its foothold in Libya as it searches for ways to capitalize on rising popularity among extremist groups around the world.

“ISIL now has an operational presence in Libya, and they have aspirations to make Libya their African hub,” said one U.S. military official, using an acronym for the group. “Libya is part of their terror map now.” . . .

U.S. military officials see few good options for halting Islamic State’s growth in Libya, where numerous militant groups have filled the power vacuums created by the fight for control between two weak, dueling governments in the country.

Putin is pretty much dictator status in Russia and is quite popular there and will continue to be despite their economic struggles. And as far as FIFA corruption? Most everyone in the world accepts that as common practice among the elites except for the USA and a few spots in Western Europe. There will be changes in FIFA, but the Russians will still get their World Cup.

BTW, what is the difference between what Hillary did as secretary of state through her foundation than what these FIFA officials have done?

Answer: The Obama administration wanted to go after FIFA but will never, ever, investigate any of the numerous obvious Clinton family felonies. Obama doesn't want to wind up like Vince Foster.

If Hillary extorted donations to the Clinton Foundation in exchange of State Dept. policies then she should get locked up in the same cell as Sepp Blatter.

Since she illegally used a personal email account from a server in her basement to conduct public business as Secretary of State, and decided on her own what the public deserved to know, and then deleted everything else from said server that she doesn't want the public to know, we'll never know what she was up to. How convenient.

Sidney held a gun to to the band leader's head, and Hillary assured the band leader that either his signature or his brains would be on that big fat check made out to the Clinton Global Initiative/Slush Fund.

Bill Clinton was the face/dignitary that the USSF used when presenting/promoting its world cup 2022 bid to FIFA. Qatar was awarded the bid instead in December of 2010 and Bill Clinton was reportedly PISSED. The DOJ began investigating FIFA for corruption in early 2011.
