It was the medicine of the time.

What if 100 years from now they look back to 2017 and question all the people that took statins and its result in short term memory loss, thinking that would be absurd in context of the medicines they have now. Somewhere some guy would be harping incessantly on his brainphone about how statins should be legalized.

So it's OK to use heroin if you have diarrhea?

"In 1884, Halsted read a report by the Austrian ophthalmologist Karl Koller, describing the anesthetic power of cocaine when instilled on the surface of the eye. Halsted, his students, and fellow physicians experimented on each other, and demonstrated that cocaine could produce safe and effective local anesthesia when applied topically and when injected. In the process, Halsted became addicted to the drug. His close friend Harvey Firestone recognized the gravity of the situation, and arranged for Halsted to be abducted and put aboard a steamer headed for Europe. In the two weeks it took to complete the voyage, Halsted underwent an early, crude form of detoxification. Upon his return to the United States he became addicted again, and was sent to Butler Sanatorium in Providence, Rhode Island, where they attempted to cure his cocaine addiction with morphine. Although he remained dependent upon morphine for the remainder of his life, he continued his career as a pioneering surgeon; many of his innovations remain standard operating room procedures.

After his discharge from Butler in 1886, Halsted moved to Baltimore, Maryland to join his friend William Welch in organizing and launching the new Johns Hopkins Hospital. When it opened in May 1889, he became its first Chief of Surgery. In 1892, Halsted joined Welch, William Osler, and Howard Kelly in founding the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and was appointed its first Professor of Surgery."

Might as well join the obsession:

Cocaine is what put the "Coke" in Coca Cola. No wonder it was so popular when it was invented.

Like I did with hedge's, I might as well jump into your obsession:
Senate Intelligence Committee still investigating possible collusion between Trump campaign and Russia

"The committee continues to look into all evidence to see if there was any hint of collusion," Burr said at a news conference. He said he and Warner were not going to discuss their initial findings on that topic "because we don't have any."

Burr said the panel had been unable to interview Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled a dossier on Donald Trump and his alleged ties to the Russian government, leaving the committee unable to verify its findings.

The dossier, which was published online by Buzzfeed, alleges that Russian operatives obtained potentially compromising personal and financial information about Trump. Moscow has denied having any "compromising materials" on Trump, who dismissed the reports as “fake news.”

"Unfortunately, the committee has hit a wall," Burr said. He said the panel has made attempts to contact Steele in England but that offers to meet with him have been rebuffed.

"The committee cannot really understand the credibility of the dossier without understanding who paid for it (and what the sources were)," Burr said. "My hope is that Mr. Steele will make a decision to meet with me or Mark or both."

Burr said the committee has gone as far as it can with its review of the memos of former FBI director James Comey, who was fired by Trump in May as Comey was leading a probe of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

Burr said "our investigation with this has reached a logical end." He said it's not closed, but the committee has talked to every relevant person in connection with the memos.

So Tick, how's that conspiracy theory about Trump colluding with the Russians going? Looks like it's not going too good...

LOL Those two cuck congressional committees were never going to bring Trump down...don't all of those Benghazi hearings ring a bell fer ya?

Richard Burr (R-NC) = Inspector Clouseau. You'll want to put off your happy dance until the real investigation is done.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that most Trump supporters don't even care that his own secretary of state not only thinks he's a moron but has actually stated it...

Even the most die hard Trump supporter knows he's a moron. The problem is that they don't care.

Correct.

Most Trump supporters freely admit that he talks crazy a lot.

But we also know that every day that he is President, the career criminal Hillary is not. It is an excellent trade.
