I wanted Mel Tucker promoted as DC.

I'm not worried about either of our coordinators. Saban will keep them in check. You didn't hear much from Pruitt when he was at UA, and how much have you heard from Kiffin?

Oh I agree, I think they're both in a great spot right now. But really there was nothing said negatively about Pruitt until his co-ed indiscretions at FSU came to light so he may have been pretty under the radar until then. Kiffin has been smart to lay low and just do his job - he'll be in line for another HC job in the next couple of years (if that's even what he wants at this point).

He's being groomed for the Bama job when Saban retires...

That's what they said about Muschamp at Texas.

Imagine the surprise when they hired a negro. I'm betting it was much like the same reaction when America voted one in as President. Twice.

I'm watching a live feed of the announcement of where Antuan Jackson will play football. They're still doing the preliminaries.

But it's not looking good for Auburn. There's a new Dodge Charger parked outside.

He's just been adopted by a guy named "Peaches."

We're doomed.

It's Auburn. Peaches is looking for the bagman.

I'm amazed that we are recruiting as well as we are, especially on defense, without a DC. And after such a crappy season.

What's Peaches up to these days? His adopted son didn't turn into his NFL $$$ machine after all.

Auburn wins the prestigious Birmingham bowl. I think it was on CSPAN3.

Kevin Steele is announced as the new DC. I hope he does better than Roof, Van Gorder, Johnson and Muschamp.

We were sure sorry to see him go, though that was back during the Lost Decade when most of our coaching staff was horrible. Clemson wasn't particular upset at his departure though ("West Virginia scores again!").

I guess he went from one lame duck coach to another so he didn't have much to lose.

An excellent recruiting class. We hit the mother lode on DL's and WR's. It was a little shy on LB's, where we REALLY need help, but overall a good haul.

Now, all we need is coaches that can coach the players up to their potential. That has been a problem for several years now.
