I think Wagner did it. I've always thought that, though.

I don't know if he was an official suspect or not but there was a lot of speculation. Unfounded? Perhaps. But it's easy to muster such speculation when you believe the worst of people as I do.

"On her 18th birthday, Natalie would go on a studio-arranged date with Robert Wagner. After a year-long courtship, Natalie and Robert would marry on December 28, 1957. But Natalie would soon discover that juggling the fame of her movie-star lifestyle with her desire to lead a private life would be too much. She soon found herself confused and depressed. After her divorce brought about by the discovery of her husband's sexual indiscretions with another man (Robert would always deny this) and with the aid of therapy, Natalie would get her career back on track."

........................

The evening began at about 4:00 pm as the trio dined at the Harbor Reef Restaurant. Witnesses claim that this is when things began to unravel. Waitresses at the restaurant saw the trio drink several bottles of champagne and state that the three patrons eventually caused a rude and rowdy ruckus with Natalie openly flirting with Walken.

Dennis Davern, captain of the yacht co-owned by Wood and her husband, Robert Wagner.

The book, co-written by Marti Rulli, tells a very different story than the official, allegedly sanitized version of the events of November 29, 1981. While the coroner ruled the star's death an accidental drowning, Davern says otherwise.

Wood and Wagner were spending the Thanksgiving weekend on a cruise with their guest Christopher Walken, who was then co-starring with Natalie in the film Brainstorm. A jealous Wagner was convinced that his wife wanted to sleep with Walken, and "Natalie wasn't convincing him otherwise."

Davern writes that a "screaming match" between the two escalated into physical abuse as "RJ" beat Natalie with his fists, leaving her black and blue. And dead.

According to the National Enquirer, Davern "identified Natalie's body and says he saw more than 25 bruises on her arms and legs where he believes she had been pummeled by Wagner during the fight in their stateroom."

Strings were allegedly pulled to whitewash the case, with the official story being that Natalie had fallen overboard while trying to tie down a rubber dinghy. Seems plausible, unless one considers that Wood was deathly afraid of the water.

Davern claims that he passed several polygraph tests about his version of events, and says he told the same story while under hypnosis. He writes that his guilt over going along with the cover-up led him to drink excessively for years, until finally coming to grips with his alcoholism. Now sober, he is trying to have the case re-opened.

In the aftermath of Wood's death, Davern writes that Wagner tried to control his every move, and made sure that the boat captain didn't spill his guts about what really happened.

Natalie Wood was many times a major cause of "wood" for this adolescent back in the day. If I remember correctly Jill St. John was on RJ's arm before Natalie's body could get cold. I've always felt he killed her, and I've hated him to this day.

I guess if you did a movie on her life, I'm guessing you cast Ann Hathaway?

Interesting read on Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, who was just captured today (or maybe yesterday). It seems to me that he was honest with his early intentions, but when presented with a final choice of family or dissent, he went with family.

A really good article (IMO) regarding Qatar, Al Jazeera and its influence on the Arab Spring.

I don't get some of these police forces. The Occupy movement, while supported by the majority in the country, would have died a long time ago without the excesses of the police. The use of pepper spray at UC Davis makes no sense. It's a sit-in but it's outside. Leave them there. Sooner or later, they are going to class. It's just silly to escalate this.

That kind of shit is infuriating. "The protestors had surrounded the police." Yeah, well then step the fuck over them you retards, just like the guy with the pepper spray did to get a better shot at their faces.
