Well, I suspect you're satisfied now, as the trophy is named for a coach of the University of Chicago, which left the Big Ten in 1946 and hasn't played major college football since 1939.

They dropped football in '39 but were still in the Big Ten for other sports until that final exit. They eventually brought back football and play in DIII in a conference of fellow schools that focus more on, you know, schoolin', like Case-West, Brandeis, and such.

i think you have it backwards, BBB. He's more recruiter than he is coach.
His Offensive Coordinator, on the other hand, is making lemonade out of lemons. The defensive coordinator, jury is still out, due to the transition from 3-4 to 4-3....first year was horrific, second year has been average to above-average....
(unlike the Pinkshirts in Lincoln)

Dave....was talking to my niece on FB last night during the game...I told her (given the ummm...circumstances this season) I've adopted UVA as my 2nd team for the rest of the CF season....she was pretty thrilled with the game last night and she and her friends can't wait for next saturday. Go...what is it? waahoos or something or other?
