Stifle, Redd...we have the Rockets in common, anyway. Whenever it is that they play again.

I wasn't living in Texas in the Luv Ya Blue days, but once Kenny Stabler became an Oiler, there were suddenly lots of Oiler fans in south Alabama. Kenny came in after the peak of those Oilers teams, though. I hate the Steelers, so Houston had my full blessing anytime they played Pittsburgh.

It's horrible. If I were a Oilers/Texans fan, I would be arguing that it belonged to the Fins, not the other way around.

Oh, the Texans have their own shitty song...some country crap called "Football Time in Houston" by Clay Walker. I don't have any issues with CW personally, but that song is just so hokey. I don't really like country music, so my opinion is inherently biased.

Oilers =/= Texans. Oilers sort of equaled the Titans for a while, but I think Steve McNair was the last Oiler player on the Titans' roster, so that connection is probably completely dead now. There were a good chunk of Houstonians who bought Vince Young jerseys...I guess they'll add an Iggles jersey to their collections.

Oh, believe me, Bonnie, I'm no Dolphins fan (admittedly, I was one for a few years as a young'un, growing up in Miami, but I've always liked the Oilers, especially during the days of Earl, who, even from his time at UT, was basically responsible for me taking to football when I did). Despite all of that, the truth is the truth. After the merger, the Dolphins had immediate success as well as league-wide respect while the OIlers had to suffer through a list of fools as head coach and GM, as well as a couple of back-to-back 1-13 seasons (Christ!) and just flat out embarrassing personnel decisions. The Luv Ya Blue era (1978 - 1980) is the best time in Oilers history. And despite what AA's irrascable ass says, I still get a tingle out of hearing "And when you say the Oilers, you're talking Superbowl". Everytime.

What Bud Adams did to the COH will follow him into the afterlife. His toupee will never feel comfortable on his lemon head. His bowels will never pass without distress.

Go Texans.

(Goddamnit)

A grown, adult male should never hit a "high note" while singing a team's fight song.

Christ.

I know it's Texas, but just because it's Texas doesn't mean there has to be country

Agreed.

I much prefer Lynard Synkard (spelling?) on the pure Rock &Roll tip or the Oak Ridge Boys on the Country tip than Clay Walker. Clay Walker, even as a country singer, is no better than what Usher is to R&B. Limp-wristedness. What's worse, urban-sugar-coating in lieu of hardcoreness.

An aside: Liz Tayor prior to 1966 is obscenely fine.

Yes, she was. I'll also give a nod to Natalie Wood...finally watched Rebel Without a Cause not too long ago.

Nutty things heard on TV: "McHale was just as good as Hakeem in low posts!"

You know, I've come to realize that I don't even listen or watch "sports talk" programming. It's pretty obvious that these guys are either a) really that stupid or b) intentionally coming up with retarded takes in order to be provocative and/or compelling.

Not interested. I could be forcing cars off the interstate instead.
